[Opinions] Benedict and Simeon
Replies
Simeon's ok. I like Benedict in theory because of sound and meaning, but Benedict Arnold would unfortunately come to a number of people's minds and may not be the best association. May be able to pull it off as a mn though, since it is an otherwise good name.

Love, love, love Benedict. Benedict nn Ned ♥
I think I would use it in real life if I couldn't use my other favorites. It's just so handsome and gentle without being weak.
I'm not a fan of Simon but Simeon is a bit better. Not really my style though.
I only have one Benedict combo but that's a GP combo - Benedict June. Obviously, not usable in real life.

I think both are perfectly fine, respectable, names to give a child but neither really appeal to me. I want to like Simeon more, but the similarity to the word "simian" is always there, causing me to envision monkeys.
ETA: Benedict Edmund just came to mind. :)

Although in theory Benedict could be nice, it reminds me way too much of eggs Benedict and the Pope, neither things I would want to name a child after.
I like Simeon. It's like slightly more mysterious, dashing sounding version of Simon. I do, however, also like Simon.
Simeon August
Simeon James
Simeon Ridley
Simeon Zephyr
But none of those really stand out to me. Hmm...

I love both:-) I had Benedikt on my list before the current Pope was elected (I'm not his fan, so wouldn't use the name and where I live it would be seen as honoring). I also love Simon pronounced SEE-mon, but know that most English-speakers are not fans of it.
