[Opinions] Monroe and Moon
So I've been loving the idea of Monroe on a boy lately - it's very "James Bond" to me. So a few questions...
wdyt of Monroe in general?
Will people assume a Monroe to be female?
Could Monte work as a nn for Monroe?
Could Moon work as a nn?
Any middle name suggestions? The cadence is making it hard for me to come up with combos
And then, what do you think of Moon in general, on a boy. It's just been on my mind the last couple days

I wouldn't want to be lumped w/ Monroe... I don't know that surnames would be likely to be assumed female. I wouldn't. If I were a guy named Monroe and grew up w/ the nn Monte, as soon as I was old enough to legally change my name to that, I would.
I would think of a kid who goes around mooning people w/ Moon as a nn.

The name Monroe would generally make people think of Marilyn Monroe. I would think so, at least. The next connection I made was President Monroe. I think that more people are going to associate the name with Marilyn though.
I actually like the name myself, although I don't think I would use it. I also personally think it's more of a boy name than a girl name.
People may assume Monroe is a girl, perhaps only because it's not very often used and two of its most famous name bearers are both female. It's associated with probably one of the most iconic women to ever live. Also, it was recently used for a celebrity baby girl - Mariah Carey's daughter.
I don't think that Monte or Moon would work as a nn. I don't think there are really any nns for Monroe. Except maybe Roe, which I don't particularly care for anyways.
Finding a middle name for Monroe is proving to be a little difficult. I would think that you should stick to something a little more common. Names like Zanzibar are going to really overdo the name. Although, Zanzibar is pretty much overdoing it on its own; but you know what I mean.
I don't really like Moon. It's not very usable in my opinion. Most names that are nouns like that I don't find very usable either, not just Moon.
