[Opinions] Cornelia vs. Cordelia
Which do you prefer? What are your favorite combos for both names?

I have always slightly preferred Cordelia. I knew an Austrian named Cornelia who went by Connie, so it helped me to like I name I hadn't liked up until then. I'm blanking on combos.
I think I prefer Cordelia of the 2. Haven't really given combos much if any thought for it.

Cordelia.
There are lots of variations of Cornelius in South Africa, and some of them translate into versions of Cornelia. For me, Cordelia is refreshingly uncommon and has that quaint Anne of Green Gables air about it; plus, I like Delia as a nn better than any of the Cornelia possibilities.
These include Cornelia, Corrie, Nelia (long e), Nel, Nell, Nellie and sometimes Nellsie, though that usually comes from Petronella.
Male versions include Corné (so Cornée should be possible, though I haven't seen it), Cornel (corrNEL), Nelius, Nelis (from the older form, Cornelis) and Cor. Both Daniel and Nathaniel can shorten to Niel in Afrikaans, so it could probably also work for Cornelius, though I haven't seen it happen).

Cornelia, definitely. It's much softer and prettier sounding. The d sound in the middle of Cordelia bothers me a lot. I'm not bothered by the Corn in Cornelia though. I even think Corny is a cute nickname.
I wasn't sure if the Corn part bothered me until I realized not everyone has to jump straight to Corny as a nickname. What about Cora? I think Cora is a great nn option! I prefer Cornelia for basically the same reasons you listed.
"Corn" in Cornelia doesn't really bother me either because I see and read "cor" and "nel" as separate syllables.
Cora is a nice nickname. I'm also partial towards Nel and Nella though they're less phoenetic.

I prefer Cordelia for two reasons, firstly it has a more pleasant sound, and secondly as it has better nickname potential (Cordy, Dell, Delia).

I can see the merits of Cornelia, but I prefer Cordelia. It's just got such a dark, creepy Victorian vibe to me, but is still very pretty. There's a strength to it as well. Cornelia is softer and more unusual, but I can't get over the "corn" thing.
I used to LOVE Cordelia and would have easily picked it as the preferable name, but it lost that spark quite a few months ago. Now, I would pick Cornelia. "Corn" is a bit problematic, perhaps, but it sounds wonderfully elegant and carries a lovely golden hue. Cordelia is darker and a little gothic, though spunkier as well. I guess it depends on which "mood" you prefer as they are both nice names.
How can I possibly choose between the two? They're both so perfect and spunky. For me, the entire combo would color whether I prefer Cornelia or Cordelia.

While I think both names are positively smashing, I always come back to Cornelia because it's a little more romantic, a little more grounded, a little more regal, and a little softer. Also, Cordelia sounds like Cornelia with a cold. "Hi, by dabe is Cordelia. Sorry, bud I'b a liddle sduffed ub right dow." Cornelia is the winner by a little bit.
