It looks similar to Aiden, particularly at first glance, but don't let that hold you back. I'd love to meet more Aldens. Alden sounds wise and attractive to me. Although I think of an adult before I do a child, it would certainly work for a child as well. It ages better than Aidan/Aiden/Ayden, etc., but that's not to say that Aidan sounds too puerile - just more youthful than Alden.

My son had a swim class with a little boy named Alden. It was a surname in their family, but I think it'd work as a name without that. It's not all that surnamey because it is similar to Allen. It didn't strike me as being similar to Aidan. I feel like it's a little too quiet and reserved for my taste in guy names, somehow, but it's nice.

I don't usually like surname-names much, but Alden is nice. It seems unpretentious and calm.

I like Alden a lot! I think it's very handsome, and not too out there because of its similarity to the Aidan trend.

I love Alden! I think it sounds a lot more mature than the Aidan-rhymey names. It's the "AY" part of Ayden that sounds immature/trendy to me, so I don't feel similarly about Alden at all.

I think it's okay. It reminds me of the name Walden. I think it could also work as a sir name, also. It kinda sounds like the name Holden, too, which is one of my personal favorites.

I like it. There's a road we drive on sometimes called Alden Nash, so I think of that and the area its in first. Which is a good association that earns it bonus points. I also have recently begun totally loving the nickname Al, so most Al- names are winners. I don't think it sounds trendy or surnamey. If anything it's close to Alvin. But less... chipmunk.
