[Opinions] Adamina and Jamesina
I used to hate both of these names; I thought they were awkward and clunky. What do you think of Adamina and Jamesina? I pronounce Adamina as add-uh-MEE-na and Jamesina as jaymz-EE-na.

Adamina just looks weird to me. It's like adamant or... I don't know. It sounds like a species of insect or something.
I like Jamesina. I've only heard it /jay meh SEE na/, and I like it better that way-- it sounds less like a dude's name with a feminine ending taped on (like a lady I met named Ralphella).

Adamina I like though have never really considered. Jamesina just sounds like a boys name trying TOO hard to be a girls name - I'm picturing a man in pink dress
I love Adamina! I think it's seriously charming and has the potential for great nicknames.
I'm not sure about Jamesina. With most feminizations of masculine names, I stop "seeing" the masculine name that started it all. I don't think "Joseph" when I see or hear Josephine, for example. Even rare names like Adamina and Thomasina don't scream "Adam and Thomas" to me. With Jamesina, though, all I see and hear is James with -ee-na tacked on the end. It's awkward and clunky and still feels weirdly masculine.

I love Jamesina. It's probably because I always hated girls name Jamie/Jaime so I was delighted to discover there was a traditional feminine form of James. Besides Jacqueline, perhaps.
Adamina - I have mixed feelings about this. It's definitely pretty, but also very clunky and a little too frilly. I much prefer Adama (pronounced uh-DAHM-uh), but then again I used to know an Adama so I'm a bit biased towards it. :)

Normally I like clunky, awkward feminizations. But I go back and forth of Jamesina. James is just such a handsome syllable. In the right combo I think Jamesina can be sort of a loveably awkward character. Adamina is another one I don't really like a whole lot, but it makes me think of Madamina, which then makes me think of the song in Don Giovanni that starts with that, so I then get an amusing little tune in my head when I hear it. I guess that makes it kind of a not to be taken seriously name, either. It also makes me think of a more comical character sort of image. Neither name I would think was very attractive in real life, although I'd be glad to see someone else dare to use them.
