Yes, it works as a whole name. I'd pick Gwendolen as the full name if I wanted to use it. If I were Gwen I'd rather be a Gwendolen nn Gwen.

I like Gwyneth a teensy bit better, but it's too loaded with Paltrow for me to use, and I think the Gwen spelling goes better with Gwendolen.
