It's FOLK SONG MONTH over at Rancho Chloe
Clementine
Susannah aka Suzy or Sukie
Liza
Daisy
Rosemary
Dinah
Polly
Arabella
Alouette
Stella Ella Ola
Thorn Rosa
Edelwiess
Evensong
William "Billy"
Henry
John Jacob (double name)
Jacques or Jack
Abraham
York (or Duke lol)
umm yeah I know I have way more girl's names, it seems to me that there are more girl's names in folky songs in general... if you can think of any more songs with boy's names in them that would be great. These are some cozy comforting names for me because they conjure up memories of the endless campfire singalong sessions I used to have when I was really young. Ah, personal nostalgia.

I feel like Johnny's gotta be in there somewhere, but then you'd have Johnny and John Jacob.
I know they're not all FROM songs but maybe... Casey Jones? Chester? Guthrie? Foster? Donovan? Cotton? Davy? Ephraim? Horton? Hank? Roger?
Some other considerations for your girls list - Jolene, Dixie, Delta, Bonnie, Malvina, Odetta, Patsy, Barbara. Then there's also Leelo - which means "folk song" :)
Anyway I love Clementine, Susannah, Daisy, Polly and Rosa
