[Opinions] Angel
I met a ten year old girl recently named Angel. It really fit her. I never liked this name but it has been growing on me. I want to know what you think of it (the English female word name, not the Spanish pronunciation/boys name). Have you met anyone? Do you think this would be a burden to have as a name? Or do you think it's trashy?

Yes, both trashy and a burden. It doesn't help that I worked with a young woman named Angel who was rather unpleasant. She was the type who'd be over-the-top fakey-smiley and cheery to your face, then say nasty things behind your back.Angela, Angelina, Angelica, Angelique (etc.) are all pretty, though, and I agree with previous posters that Angel would be fine as a nickname for one of those.

I used to not like it very much, but I'm beginning to warm up to it...as a boy's name. It reminds me of Angel Clare from "Tess of the d'Urbervilles". He's not the best character but I think it adds a bit of class to the name.

I do think it's a bit trashy and cheesy. It would be better as a nickname (for Angelica or something) because then it wouldn't seem like the actual word Angel.

I like Angel! I have a friend named Angel as well as a younger girl I know with the name. I don't think it's a burden. I like it a lot more than Angela or Angelina, and I don't think it's trashy at all.

I have always found it to be trashy, until recently. I'm still not a huge fan of it, but on the right person, it can be nice.

I've heard of a lot of pets named this, and I've met one.It was a young girl named Angel Marie.I think it is a nice name, but I would use it as a middle.

I think it's over-optimistic. If necessary, it could be a nn for Angela (or Angelina etc) which would take the pressure off somewhat.
