I have been thinking about Ally lately too! I like Ally and Allie equally but the other two spelling I don't like. It seems like it has to be a nickname for something but not necessarily Alison.... i.e. Alexandra, Alice, Alicia. I know two Ally's in their late 20's (no idea what they're short for) and of course there's Ally McBeal.
