Message: "Lara and Kelly" - Behind the Name

Since I've managed to convince my family to adopt our temporary shelter dog, we now have dogs named Lara and Kelly:-)
They were both named at the shelter and while I'd never choose either name (they clash with our last name) I do love Lara and Kelly is growing on me. I actually had Larisa, nn Lara in my top five for future daughters before we adopted Lara. Lara is actually popular for children now, but I've never heard of a Kelly here.

So, what are your feelings on Lara and/or Kelly as names in general?

I actually kinda like the name Lara, though it's not super high on my list... Kelly's not exciting, but it's ok and I've known some lovely people w/ that name.

I've always had a soft spot for Lara :)

I know a few Kelly's all born in the late 80s, early 90s but have never heard it on a newborn

I like Lara - it's cute and sweet but not too sugary.

I don't really like Kelly though because I find it dated.
