[Games] Amara L's Halloween Congrats!
I just love Halloween, don't you? I'm a big kid and always will be, so it's easy for me to get OTT at this time of year.
In any case, I've been intending to do a Halloween themed congrats for a while now. Due to the late planning, this will probably go past Halloween into early November... my original plan was to have it end around Oct 31st, but I wasn't sure I'd have the time and now it turns out I do, it's too late. Still, rounds of this Congrats will run every 1-3 days average, and will be Halloween/Supernatural themed.
Sign up will end on Monday 24th, whereupon the first round will start. Signups will be allowed into week #1 and maybe week #2 if I'm feeling nice. In principle you could be presumed missing if you miss 3 rounds, but because of the possible quickfire nature of this game and because of my own recent bad track record on this, I will give warnings rather than dropping people. You will only be dropped if it becomes painfully obvious that you've vanished.
While this is somewhat plot based, the nature of your writing it up to you. Paragraphs, sentences, notes and bullet points are accepted, in whichever grammatical person or style you wish. The plot will be given in 3-5 bullet plot points each round. This Congrats is set in an AU where zombies, ghouls, witches, warlocks, pumpkin-headed headless horsemen, werewolves and the rest of the Halloween staple cast are presumably as common as a...common thing... but beyond that, I don't want to set any limits. You can create as much of a narrative about this world your respective families live in as you like, and I invite you in the absence of a central Congrats setting to be as creative and wacky or as realistic as you like.
It should be noted that this Congrats will be fantasy / mild-horror / Halloween themed. It might not be to all tastes. While the plots might centre around being bitten by a werewolf, for example, I don't think this will be a problem. However, if in your respective plots you wish to go into more horror and graphic realms, bear in mind the rules of the forum, and mark your replies as being of the more mature variety. I'm pretty sure we won't have any problems and that this goes without saying, but I thought I should say this anyway. If you aren't a horror aficionado, please don't be put off as many of the plot lines will be more fantasy and light-hearted horror. Plotwise, I will try to accommodate everyone's tastes and given the free reign in the setting, you can really do as you like.
In terms of naming, there will be a mix of lists, links, initials and so forth. Divorcees, heterosexual, homosexual and unmarried couples are all allowed, as always.
I think that's all covered, shall we proceed, kiddies? (I'll stop the Crypt references one day, I promise)

INTRODUCTION PLOT POINTS
These can be sentences, notes or bullet points as previously mentioned, and should not be too long unless you are naturally verbose. You can expand on these at a later date. Equally, feel free to write more than the points cover.
#1: Where do your couple live? What kind of world and society is it?
#2: What kind of people are your couple? What is their history, their personality, their nature? If they're magic users, do you want to expand on that a bit? Basically, who are they?
#3: How did your couple meet, and what is their situation? Are they newlyweds or an unmarried couple who have known each other for decades?
SEE YOU NEXT ROUND!
EHEHEHEHE!

DGf: Camilla "Cami" Elena Lorenzo (Human) (18)
Luc Harker remembered Cami Lorenzo from school. They'd had a few classes together every so often, but she was the life of the party, and he was reserved. After all, coming from a warlock family in a place like Cairn Hills made you an introvert. Sure, Cairn Hills recognized magical beings such as wizard, witches, ghosts, or vampires, but there was a stigma attached to actually being one.
During a boating trip with her older brother, Cami fell into the lake. Jack jumped in after her and drowned, unable to fight the current. Luc, who was sitting on the banks sketching, used his magic to stop the currents, swam out to Cami and saved her. From that day on, they've been inseparable. Luc keeps Camilla from being to completely impulsive, and Cami brings Luc into the limelight. She know about his wizard status, and she knows he doesn't want to tell anyone. She's working on giving him the courage to tell people. He thinks that as a non-magical human, she doesn't understand the pressure.

Dgf: Bellatrix Maia Gray (healer) - her last name honours Oscar Wilde's Dorian Gray
Dbf: Mortimas Irving Silvermoon (warlock) - his middle name honours Washington Irving, author of 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'
Maia was named after her grandmother, whom she despised (like much of the rest of her family), and she prefers to be called by her middle name. She was raised by a quite conservative family of magicians that were respected and well-known in their kingdom. Since her earliest childhood, she was expected to study magic and was sent to different elite boarding schools. Unfortunately, although she was very knoledgable, she never demonstrated a practical talent for any of the accepted branches of magic. She started skipping school often and went about exploring the marketplaces, parks, and outskirts of town her parents would never let her visit. That is how she met Mortimas.
Mortimas comes from a family of 'zaubers', travelling magic users that go from town to town offering all kinds of services, artifacts, and entertainment. His mother is a healer, his father a street illusionist. Among his extented family are all kinds of enchanters, magical craftsmen and phychics. Although he loves his family and the variety of magic that they practice, he never felt like he could develop his full potential by learning how to create visual and audible illusions, love-charms and healing spells.
When Mortimas first saw Maia, he was sure she must be the most beautiful girl in the world. Just to ensure the feeling would be mutual, he started whispering a love spell, but Maia had paid enough attention in school to recognise a simple charm and interrupted him. He was more than embarassed she had noticed, but also intrigued by her knowledge. Mortimas' family was spending the summer in a camp just outside the town's gates, and they started meeting almost every day. With both of them unhappy with their family situation, they developed a risky and, as gransmother Bellatrix would have said, 'inconcievably futuitous' plan - even though he didn't feel it was the fulfilling magical art he saught to learn and practice, Mortimas WAS a very talented illusionist...

DH: Gareth Michael {wizard, age 19}
DW: Sophie Katherine {witch, age 18}
The world Gareth and Sophie live in is rife with magic. It's as respectable a profession as shopkeeper. Even the smallest villages can boast a witch or wizard, and though magic is innate it is like singing ability: it must be trained, and even the best natural talent cannot be fully realized without a good teacher. Curses are considered crimes and are punishable by law; vampirism, zombification, monster-ism are all results of common curse-crimes. Lycanthropy is an unfortunate magical disease, only curable by a powerful sorcerer-healer. Sophie and Gareth live in the small city of Linley-Upon-Harn, a busy market town along the Harn River, an important trading route in their kingdom. Gareth owns a manor on the moor above the town, and Sophie now lives with him after growing up in the nearby town. The general feel of the world is turn-of-the-twentieth century America/Europe.
Sophie is a tailor's daughter who grew up not really aware of her magical ability in Linley-Upon-Harn. She is the middle of three daughters, with an older sister (Emma Isabelle) and a younger one (Lucy Olivia). She expected to have a boring life, as everyone knows it's youngest children who have the adventures. She is therefore a very capable young woman, able to sew and cook and very studious and intelligent, and very pretty with dark hair and sparkling blue eyes, a rosy complexion, and high wide cheekbones. She is also funny, with a sonewhat dry sense of humor, generous, and open-hearted.

SO1: Andromache Wilhelmina Sylvain {WITCH} - Wilhelmina from Dracula
SO2: Dorian Rune Ankhara {WARLOCK} - Dorian from The Picture of Dorian Gray (I'm assuming someone a movie version of that at some time...)
They live on the outskirts of a town, nowhere near the main city of Gaethram.
Andromache comes from a long line of witches highly respected for their talents, but her family has always lived in the rural areas and has spent a long time gently refusing the offers of titles and a place at court from important people and the like from the main city. Andromache doesn't live in the forest like her grandmother did, and she does travel to court occasionally, but she will not accept a title and refuses to live in the main city. She has a reputation as a "good witch", especially among people like farmers and townsfolk, as most of her work involves healing and changing the weather in peoples' favor. However, it is not uncommon for her to accept a job involving poisoning or hexing, and most of the more 'important' types and those in the main city know this.
Dorian has distant relatives who hold important titles in the main city, but he comes from an illegitimate branch of the family tree and has never been recognized by these relatives. He was trained in a mountain colony by one of the more "rebellious" magicians. His master and a select circle of friends and students were once involved in a slightly illegal plan, but Dorian was kicked out when it was discovered that his views didn't align quite enough with their intentions. He then moved back to the town where he was born, with talent but no title. He secretly wishes he could move to the main city and be recognized as a wizard, or even become part of another circle of warlocks. He could match most of the court wizards in ability, but he's mostly hopeless when it comes to politics. He admires wizards a little too much to get along with most other warlocks.
(note: in this world, "wizard" refers to a male magic-user who had been trained by another wizard and been accepted by the court at Gaethram.
