I have heard the name Binni/Binnie for girls and I wonder if anyone knows the origin for it. Is it a nick for something?

I have seen it (in a book) used as a nn for Belinda.

Also in another book I am reading at the moment there is a little girl called Binnie and they are trying to work out what Binnie is short for.

The Oxford Dictionary of First Names by Hanks, Hardcastle, and Hodges says that Binnie is a pet form of Bernice.
