I like Chase for a boy - but definitely not for a girl. I don't think it's common at all (I know one, who is about 16), but I live in the UK and it may well be more popular elsewhere.
I don't like the spelling Chace at all. I think it would be a bit confusing because the name is pronounced like the word "chase" so it doesn't really make sense to spell it differently to the word.
