I like Irene = eye-REE-ni, but the only way to achieve it seems to be spelling it Eirene! I cannot warm up to eye-reen.

I know a few people named Irene and theyre all nice so it has a good association to me, plus it makes me think of the song Irene, Goodnight, might make a nice middle name :)
