Out of curiosity I checked for Abel on aufeminin.com, they have these names listed but none of them are popular (they have been used maybe 10 times or so in the last 50 years or something like that).

I actually have an ancestor from Germany who was female and named Abel. Sorry I don't know any female forms but maybe Abel use to be acceptable as a female name as well as a male name. Or maybe my ancestors were unusual people.

I know I am coming in late on this but you could always use a name with the same meaning. Abel means breath, so do Eve, Spirit, Psyche. All of these are feminine names.
