[Opinions] Edna?
Is it just me, or does Edna seem kind of . . . well, pretty? I never really gave it thought before, it seemed much too dowdy, but recently I started to give it a little more thought. I don't think I'd ever use it - there are other names I much more prefer, maybe I'd consider using it as a middle name if I had a relative with and Ed- name I'd like to honor - but Edna does seem kind of nice to me now. What do you think?

Edna is a sweet, modest old name. It was my grandmother's name (b.1913). She was known as Eddie to all intimates. I think it'd be nice on a modern girl/woman, and it's time it was brought back, to a small degree anyway! Maybe I'll use it for a child someday myself, but there are so many other names I like. You know how it is.

I think of Edna Krabappel on The Simpsons. And also my Grandaunt-By-Marriage Edna, who, among other things, refused to let Mom and Uncle Roy sleep in her house when they went over to Penticton to visit their dying sister, my Aunt Flo.
If get rid of those associations, I think Edna has its own charm. But it's still sounds dowdy and "old" to me, even though I usually like names in this group. Edna's certainly better than Eddie as a full name for a girl imo.
I prefer Edith, Edda, Eden, Eden, Edana, Edwarda, or Edmé. Or Ethel, if you break out of the Ed names.

It appears in my family tree (if you noticed my post below).
I am not a huge fan fo it but it would be nice to use these days, not at all common, has the nn Eddie to fall abck on for cuteness if people think it is a bit old lady.
