[Opinions] Zoe
Used to love this name a while back but then kind of forgot about it. Still like it,though. What do you think of Zoe? Would you pronounce Zoé differently? How about ZOË? (had to copy it in, if anyone knows how to make it on my pc please enlighten me).If you were forced to use and alternate spelling (Zoé and ZOË don't count), which one?I prefer Zoe, I also like ZOË and Zoé but Zoie and Zooey grew on me. Some ideas:Zoie
Zoey
Zoee
ZooeyDo you think it's too common? I think it is but I still like it.Oh and if you had to choose:Zoe
Chloe
Phoebe
Daphne
? and why? any spelling.Oh and some combos:Zoe Elissa
Zoe Annabellewdyt? Oh and if you have any time vote on my PNL, I added some new ones.

I like Zoe, though it's not a favorite name. I'd pronounce Zoe and Zoë (hold ALT and type 0235 on the key pad) the same, but I'd pronounce Zoé more like zo-AY. Zoe is the only spelling I like. I detest Zooey. If something is zoo-like, it's zooey, as in "Clean up! It smells zooey in here."If forced to pick an alternate spelling, I'd weep bitter, angry tears and then pick Zoey. I honestly can't believe both Zoe and Zoey are in the Top 50. That's not too common for me, but, yes, it is a lot of little girls answering to the same name. I would choose lovely Daphne over any of the others. It's my favorite and, even if it weren't, the others don't work for me. I already have a niece named Phoebe, I hate Chloe, and I think Zoe sounds awkward with my son's name.

I don't especially like Zoe. It's not that popular as far as I know, but It sounds too trendy - too much like Chloe. Zoe is definitely the preferred spelling for me. The accented versions are pronounced the same way and would just lead to complications when filling in forms, typing it out etc. Zoie is the only alternative spelling I might consider, although I think it looks strange. Zooey makes no sense to me - it looks like it would have a long "oo" sound (like the word Zoo) rather than a short "o" like Zoe.I would choose Phoebe over Zoe and Chloe because it's more classy and less common. Daphne is a bit dated for me, but I still prefer it over Zoe or chloe.

Zoe is really growing on me. I certainly like this spelling better than any other. Zooey is the least attractive to me. It looks like 'zoo.' It probably is too common (therefore, the trendy spelling variants), however, if you really love it ... I think Zoe Claire would be a cute combo. And while I like Elissa and Annabelle (prefer Annabel), I'm not wild with them paired with Zoe due to all of the back to back vowel sounds. If I had to choose between Zoe, Chloe, Phoebe and Daphne, I'd probably choose Zoe even though I like Daphne as well. Chloe and especially Phoebe don't appeal to me.

It's unfortunately become rathre common and trendy, BUT it's still a good name and I'd just leave it as Zoe to avoid confusion... I think Zoe Vanessa is a beautiful combo and my favourite Zoe combo... Though I'd use Ikue Vanessa because of the Jpns. thing...I'd take Zoe over Chloe, Phoebe or Daphne any day.
Elissa is a nice name on its own, but Zoe doesn't flow into it well.
Zoe Annabelle is kinda pretty even though I'm generally not so fond of Annabelle...
Zoe Anneliese would also sound nice.Others to try w/ it:

Amaryllis
Dominique / Dominga

Joanne1 nice think about Zoe is it's short enough it can easily be turned into a double name to distinguish her from other Zoes if you like.

I heart Zoe so, so much. Great meaning, spunky name. Love it.I prn. all 3 the same way.I really, really, really hate the other spellings. Especially with two O's. Thats not Zo-ee, thats Zoo-ey. Like something thats veyr much like a zoo. The extra e in Zoee is so redundant, and silly, and the others are very childish looking. So I can't do it, sorry. Has to be Zoe (with or without the accents)Yeah it's popular. But that doesn't make it bad. It wouldn't stop me. I'd just pair it with a very unusal mn to balance it out.Zoe by far. Chloe is boing and so overdone, and I've never liked Phoebe and Daphne. They just sound so silly and daft to me.I like both the combos, although I do prefer Zoe Elissa.

I think Zoe is a lovely name, and I like that spelling. I prefer Zoë, but just because I'm into French things, and that is how it is most commonly spelled in France. :)I do not like any other spelling. Especially Zoie. We have enough 'ie' ending names in my opinion. And despite the J.D. Salinger reference, Zooey doesn't look like it should sound the way it does phonetically. For me, Zoe or Daphne would be the winners. I just like Zoe's meaning. I like Daphne's story, and the general sound of it.Out of the two combos you posted I prefer Zoe Annabelle. It sounds more complete to me.However, I looked at your PNL, and I think these might make good combos:Zoe Aislin : I love the idea of having names from two different cultures here.Zoe Miranda
Zoe Winter
Zoe Emmeline

I don't mind the sound of Zoe, but I get a "flaky" feeling from her. A little ditzy and flighty, you know. I would pronounce Zoe the same, regardless of what accent in on the e.If I had to pick an alternate spelling, it'd be Zoey. Definitely not two o's as that would make me say ZOO-ee instead of ZOH-ee. Daphne! Less common and the Scooby-Doo association!I love Elissa, but Zoe Elissa doesn't look appealing to me because the of back-to-back e's. Zoe Annabelle flows well enough.

I like Zoe. I think it is mainly due to good connections. I have a baby cousin caleld Zoe (Zoe Lynn, actually) and there's the actress Zooey Deschanel. I like Zoë spelt best that way, though Zoe without the trema(?) is nice, too.If I had to pick an alternate spelling I'd have to go with Zoey. Zoie/Zoee have too many vowels in a row and Zooey makes me want to say "ZOO-ee."From your list I like Zoe the best. Chloe, Phoebe and Daphne annoy me. I just don't think they're very pretty names. Sorry.

I'm really sorry, but I hate Zoe, Chloe, Phoebe and Daphne. They are not my style at all. There is just something about all those names that irritates me. lol.

I like think its a pretty nice name. I like Zoe with the dots over the E the best, then Zoe. If I had to use a spelling other than ZOË or Zoe, I'd probably chose Zoey. The other's don't really look right. Especially Zooey; it looks like ZOO-ee.I only know one ZOË and one Zoe. I don't really think its that common of a name.Of all of those I'd probably chose Zoe. Then Phoebe, then Chloe and finally Daphne. By the way, I know sisters named Zoe and Phoebe. Both of those combos are really pretty.

I've never been a fan - It's too short and zoo-ey, though I don't hate it.I think I'd take Chloe over the other suggestions, common as it is.
But if I could choose one of similar feel that's not on your list it would be Ianthe.Zoe Cassandra
Zoe Delphine
Zoe Jasmine
Zoe Patricia
