It's ok. Doesn't excite me, but would be almost refreshing to see on a little one among the plethora of Emmaas, Emilys, Lilys, Sophias, etc. I have a friend named Mavelle (mah-vel) from Mexico whose name also means lovable, so I'm guessing that may be a variant. I do like Mavelle better, but Mabel's not bad... I think Mavelle might be easier for a small child to pull off because it would have less of an old lady stigma on it.
