King: King Jacques-Léon Phillipe Sébastien Mathieu, King of Rossinest and Prince of Delacroix (22) "His Royal Highness King Jacques-Leon"
Queen: Queen Emeline Isabelle Mélisande Rose of Verbena, Queen of Rossinest (17) "Her Royal Highness Queen Emeline"
From the Royal House of: Verbena
In the Kingdom of: Rossinest
King Aldric and Queen Morgane had a great love story. Morgane's mother tutored the royal children and so Morgane was blessed enough to acquaint herself with them at a young age. Aldric was youngest, and at only a year older than Morgane herself became her closest friend. Aldric's elder siblings took their roles as his future advisers seriously and advised him to end the relationship with the peasant girl, seeing the young love blossom, but Aldric did not care - Morgane meant too much to him. Their love surely did grow and over time the whole of Rossinest learnt of it, and fell in love with Morgane the peasant girl whom they all knew would one day be Queen.
Aldric was coronated just shy of his 23rd birthday in a lavish ceremony attended by all 8 of his elder siblings who proudly took their places as his advisers. The day after Aldric's coronation, a second celebration took place, the wedding of Aldric and Morgane. All was well in Rossinest until the war king of the neighbouring kingdom decided that he wanted Rossinest's lands for his own. A great war began between Rossinest and neighbouring Delacroix, ruled by the fearsome King Francois.
Though at war, Aldric and Morgane tried to live on and look after the people of Rossinest the best they could. The welcomed 7 strong sons over the years and then finally a single daughter. Little Emeline was beloved by all as the youngest daughter of Rossinest with her 7 brothers and their families to look after, guide and protect her. Emeline was only 3 however when assassains sent by King Francois came to kill her whole family. They sneak into the bedchambers of the King and Queen, all 7 princes along with their wives and children, and finally the tiny princess and poured poison into the drinking water so that when they all rose and drank at the start of a new day, they would all die... The Queen however rose early that morn and drank long before the rest of the palace awoke. She died, but her death warned the others and no one else fell victim to the poison.

King: Brandon Joseph Atticus Desmond Rhys, His Majesty King Joseph (17)
Queen: Susanna Elizabeth Viviana Anastasia Matilda, Her Serene Majesty, Queen Susanna (17)
From the Royal House of: Tyrian
In the Kingdom of: Irnys
Susanna, known affectionately as Zanna by her family, was named the heir to the throne at the age of twelve, once it was certain that her parents would have no more children. In Irnys, the youngest child of the reigning monarch has been the heir for hundreds of years. This began with King Fionn, who deemed his youngest child, his daughter Iris, the most worthy of his children to take the throne. This began a tradition that became law. So from the time it was certain her mother would have no more children, Susanna was groomed for rule. The youngest of seven, Susanna was always surrounded by people who loved her and thought she would have many years to learn and study before she took the throne. But her father, King Walter, was killed by an assasin, a man assumed to be mad as he spent two days shouting and screaming nonsense before his execution. Susanna and her family were devastated, but not so much that her mother, Queen Evelina, lost her head for a moment. Susanna, at once the most important person and the most tempting target in Inrys, was quickly surrounded with bodyguards.

King: Felix Benjamin Henry James (23)
Queen: Cecilia Eliza Louisa Rose (16)
From the Royal House of: Cerise
In the Kingdom of: Cotswold
Cecilia, the younger of the of the two children of King Arthur and Queen Esther, was forced to inherit the throne after her father was killed in a battle. Her mother died giving birth the her and her twin sister - older by three minutes - Genevieve. Now, Genevieve had always been jealous of her sister. She figured her father had loved Cecilia more, because after all, she would be queen someday. Cecilia, on the other hand, thought Genevieve had the better end of the deal, being older by only three minutes. You see, Cecilia was not at all a good leader, and failed miserably under pressure, which being the youngest, was always. She was very shy and could never make decisions quickly - if at all. Contrary to that, Genevieve was always bossing people around; from the time she could talk and walk, Cecilia had to put of with her bossiness. She was a great leader, and as bossy as she was, listened to other people's opinions. Now, Cecilia, who was only sixteen, that combined with her poor leadership showd that she was nowhere near being ready to become Queen. The people of Cotswold could only hope that King Arthur would be around for a long, long time.
Too quickly the time came for Cecilia to become Queen. All of a sudden the Kingdom of Cotswold was in a big mess; still no peace between them and their rival kingdom and two make matters worse, the wonderful ruler King Arthur was dead. All the people, that is except for King Arthur, doubted Cecilia as Queen greatly. They had lost all hope until the idea popped up for Cecilia to marry Prince Felix, prince of an allied kingdom. Now, Prince Felix, had already shown very strong leadership skills, and people already looked up to him greatly. This made him the perfect husband for Cecilia. So, she quickly married him and together they started ruling the vast Kingdom of Cotswold.
Cecilia, though she married Felix for political reasons, grew to love him deeply, and was enchanted by him. They're reigning the kindom well, or as well as you can when a war is raging. The people are happy for a solution to Cecilia's lack of leadership. The furious war is dying down, Cotswold is close to defeating the enemy...or at least they think they are.

Everyone wanted this particular spot on the map due to its fertile countryside, its access to the seas, and its location at the crossroads of vital trade routes. Prior to the war, a man named Amias the Fair was emperor of the entire region. On his deathbed, he divided his empire into equal kingdoms among his eleven sons, but not one of them was satisfied with his share. The fifth son, Thane, was especially vengeful, for he had been allotted the mountainous lands, where nothing grew and which saw but a month of sun every year. Thane, who had a cunning but dark mind, had always been prone to violence, and he saw his father's death as an opportunity to seize power for himself. He gathered his well-trained military forces and crushed the kingdoms of eight of his brothers, consolidating their lands -- including the precious Jacaranda -- into provinces in his own kingdom of Kyrn. Only two brothers, Cadmus and Jabez, were able to withstand Thane's assaults; nonetheless, they retreated to the mountains, where they combined their kingdoms to form the land of Solandra.
King Joseph Wilhelm directly descends from the line of Thane, and he shares his ancestor's proclivity toward warfare. As the eighth and youngest child of the late King Magnus the Bold, from birth Joseph Wilhelm was the first in line to inherit the Kyrnian throne. He received the best education available, with a special emphasis on military tactics and strategy, which he picked up with amazing ease. He routinely outperformed his peers and by the age of 12 had mastered every weapon in the army's arsenal. Court advisors whispered amongst themselves that such a shrewd mind had not existed since Thane himself.

King: Adrian Robert Conrad Scorpius [24]
Queen: Elinor Katherine Lucinda Rose [16]
From the Royal House of: Crescent
About House Crescent: Rulers of the Gaian kingdom for six generations, their Sigil is a Crescent Moon on a field of Black with three stars.
Kingdom: Gaia
King Adrian ascended the throne when his father had passed away of old age. He was his father's only heir, so the pressure was great on the young king to make a politically sound match with a king's daughter of a neighboring kingdom.
However, after his coronation he went on a grand tour of the Kingdom of Gaia, which includes a island called the Isle of Flowers. On this island the people cultivate the most gorgeous, breathtaking flowers of all the world. Many of which are not only beautiful but have wonderful healing properties as well. The small island used to have a matriarchy and were rules by queens, but being peaceful people, they relied the extremely difficult to navigate Misty Sea to protect them from outside invaders.
Four generations ago the then King of Gaia had a little daughter who was gravely ill. He promised a lordship to the man (or woman) who could find him a cure for his ailing child. Rumors back then existed of a mysterious island full of flowers that could heal any ailment, but most people had considered such stories a myth. Nonetheless, one brave sailor decided to risk passage across the Misty Sea. Luck prevailed for him, and the island was found.
The queen of the island, a mother herself, was moved by the sailor's tale and agreed to give him the cure as long he kept the location of their island a secret from the massively powerful Kingdom of Gaia.
The sailor agreed and returned to the kingdom, and the cure worked on the Gaian king's daughter. True to his word, the king gave the sailor a lordship, but the sailor did not keep his word. When the king wanted to know where the cure came from, he not only told them, he showed them how to navigate the treacherous waters to the island itself and within a year soldiers had landed on its shore. No bloodshed was to be had though. The queen of the isle bent her knee, denounced her title of queen and arrangements were made to solidify the peace by betrothing her son to the king's daughter she helped save when the two children.

King: Wystan Tilden Balthazar William James Experience (23)
Queen: Isobel Persephone Linnea Tomorrow Aeliana (19)
From the Royal House of: Tamarind
In the Kingdom of: Coldgate
King Wystan was the youngest of King Amias and Queen Flavia's three children. He married the love of his life, Isobel, two years ago. She was the princess of a Kingdom nearby. They had always been good friends but when Isobel became a teenager Wystan realized that he loved her and that he wanted to marry her - thankfully, Isobel felt the same thing.
A couple of months ago King Amias suffered a heart attack. He survived, but he was very weak and couldn't rule a kingdom anymore. He talked it through with Wystan, but before it became official the King suffered from another heart attack. Sadly, he wasn't as lucky this time and passed away later that day.
It's been a while and Wystan is now the King of Coldgate. He's doing a good job, but there are harder times ahead which he will have to deal with along with the lost of his beloved father....

Queen: Cordelia Amabel Katherine Aurelia Claire "Queen Cordelia Amabel II" (20)
From the Royal House of: Northcliff

Cordelia Amabel inherited the Kingdom of Bryony from her mother, the late Queen Aurelia Therese. Jasper is the son of the former king of Magnolia who had been forced to leave his country after revolution. Cordelia Amabel and Jasper have been friends since they were toddlers, and their marriage was a love marriage (which was accepted because Jasper had a noble background, it would have caused a scandal if he was a commoner).

King: Leopold Andreas Johannes Rafael (20)
Queen: Adelais Katrien Lucia Victoria (17)
From the Royal House of: Whitelake
In the Kingdom of: Caranenth
The Royal House of Whitelake has ruled the Kingdom of Caranenth for generations. The law of the Kingdom states that the youngest child of the ruling royal will be the heir to the throne, while tradition states that the transition to this heir will take place after a period of no more than 30 years.
Five years ago, it was discovered that Queen Sofie, the wife of the ruling King Augustijn, could not have any more children. As it was the 25th year of Augustijn's reign, he and Sofie figured it was time to officially name their youngest, the 12-year-old Princess Adelais Katrien Lucia Victoria, as the Crown Princess. Adelais was an incredibly bright child with a surprising mind for politics as well as some military strategy. She immediately took to the news that she would rule Caranenth in 5 years' time.
That year, one other major decision was made regarding the future of the new Crown Princess and the kingdom. King Augustijn and Queen Sofie decided that it was time for Adelais to become betrothed. Knowing their daughter had a good head on her shoulders, they let her give input on who her future husband would be. Her choice was her best friend, Lord Leopold Andreas Johannes Rafael, the 15-year-old son and heir of the Duke of Orin, one of Caranenth's oldest noble houses and Whitelake's closest allies. Adelais' decision neither surprised her parents nor led them to override her. Leopold, a quiet and clever young man, had shown flashes of great leadership. It was then that the official announcement of the betrothal of the Crown Princess Adelais and her Lord Leopold was announced to Caranenth.
In the present year, King Augustijn has reached the 30th year of his reign. Adelais and Leopold, who had only grown closer since the official betrothal, were wed at the beginning of the spring. Following tradition of the kingdom, Augustijn abdicated in favor of the Crown Princess. 17-year-old Adelais became Queen of Caranenth. 20-year-old Leopold was named King, retaining his rights to inherit the additional title of Duke of Orin if his father's death should precede his own.

Dowager King: "Wulf" Pascal Gregoire Augustin Wulf (67) "Royal Father Wulf"
Deceased Queen: Emmeline Drusilla Lilou Maud
King: "Ten" Estienne Sebastien Esme Talmage X (21) "HRH, King Estienne the Tenth"
Queen: "Pippa" Felipa Lorenza Perla Leonor (15) "HRH, Queen Felipa"
From the Royal House of: Lysina
In the Kingdom of: Elsey
Ten inherited the kingdom outright after his mother passed away, even though it was his father who had done most of the work. However, this worked out for the best as Ten was able to retain his father as an Imperial Minister and Supreme Council to the Ruler, plus this gave his father a much needed break.
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~
You see, the Kingdom of Elsey had a tradition of ultimogeniture, where the youngest inherited the titles. If there was a noble marriage, both parents ruled equally (unless there was an issue, and this was taken care of with the marriage contract), but the titles, land, and funds would pass to the heir - the YOUNGEST child - upon the death of the parent who had inherited the titles originally. This provided for long periods of rule by one person, which lent itself to stability and growth.
The only exception would be if the youngest child was under-aged (not yet 16 years) at the time of inheritance. In that case the surviving parent would act as Regent. If the child was at least 10, then s/he would have equal say in the ruling of the Kingdom. If the child was younger then 10 the Regent could rule or the Council of Nobles might be approached and asked to allow an older sibling to inherit. This is always a complicated process and is avoided by everybody as much as possible.
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~
Ten was the youngest of his 8 siblings. His mother, Emmeline, knew that the best she could provide for the Kingdom of Elsey was a strong Royal family. Emmeline just didn't have any knack for ruling, and even less desire to learn. However, she was an only child and couldn't pass the torch to another. Emmeline did her best and married for the good of Elsey. She did that one thing very well, and he was able to do most of the day to day ruling of the Kingdom. Emmeline then made sure that the Kingdom would have enough heirs to prevent any tragedy.

King Consort: Benedict Stefan David (23)
Queen: Georgiana Octavia Violet Louisa (19)
From the Royal House of: Iduno
In the Kingdom of: Pagoda
Georgiana and Benedict have been engaged since Georgiana was a newborn. They have grown up around each other and are close friends but not remotely in love with each other.
Georgiana's parents were planning on having more children, but pregnancy had always been hard on Queen Cecily and after suffering several miscarriages was warned by the physicians that another pregnancy could very well kill her, so they had to stop trying. Cecily and Zacharias doted on their three children though, giving them the best education and letting Antonia and Nicholas choose their own spouses.
Georgiana and Benedict were married six months ago and were crowned on Georgiana's eighteenth birthday, not three months later. So far everything is going wonderfully.

King: Aaron Lachlan Rhys Wulf (18)
Queen: Isadora Octavia Serena Wisteria (20)
From the Royal House of: Orin
In the Kingdom of: Solandra
Writing Prompt: Isadora had a twin sister - Isobel Olive True-Ann - who was 7 minutes younger, but at the age of 15 was raped and murder by a noble from the enemy house of Delca in an act of revenge (that noble wished to marry her to unite the houses, but King Orion, her father, promised her to Aaron, which made the Delca noble furious).
So, when Isobel was found dead by a stream, Isadora was officially the legitimate heiress of the throne and her life changed for good. She had to impersonate her sister so that her father and the Kingdom of Solandra didn't lose an important ally against the same enemies.
2 years younger, pretentious, arrogant and a coward, Aaron turned Isadora's life into a torment, so she became involved with several men (noble, burgeois, commoners, princes, bards, poets, etc.). But she was discovered by her older brother's whores (second in succession), and in an act of pure despite and jealousy, they told him everything. So he tried to use the information to exile her and take her the right to the throne.
But, unfortunately for him and for the family, King Orion, who was at the middle of his life, was betrayed by his counselor, who had made an agreement with the Delca family - they pretended to make a revolution among the commoners and the royal family to obtain the throne by force. So he died, poisoned, in a new moon day.
Then, because there wasn't any proofs that Isadora wasn't Isobel and that she had betrayed her husband, she was named Queen of Solandra at the age of 20. At that time she was 5 months pregnant and the father was her husband's squire.
Now, she has to deal with problems she never learned to resolve, she has to be safe from her brother, that now has two people to kill to achieve the throne, has to fight against the Delca family or arrange a compromise between them and has to run from her husband's attempts of seduction.
Meanwhile, she had fallen for the squire and the relation between them not only is dangerous for both of them, but also puts the realm at stake. What will she do?

King: Vincent Theodore Dmitry Solomon [23]
Queen: Octavia Lucienne Constantina Valeria [20]
From the Royal House of Valdimere
In the Kingdom of Nighlin
Welcome to the kingdom of Nighlin. It used to be Terra Incognita before the founder of Nighlin, conveniently remembered as being a member of the Valdimere family, came along. It is conveniently forgotten that there were people there before then, with their own societies and worlds and cultures and communities, but such is diplomacy. Legend says that Nighlin was named after Nighlin Valdimere, the wife of the great founder of their nation, who much like her husband died by her sword. According to historians it's not that unlikely; Nighlin, they say, is a barbarian invader name, and Valdimere is probably the literal translation of a barbarian surname, and we all know that fictitious barbarians like their women wicked. Nonetheless, it suits the House of Valdimere well. They like the myths that say they have a claim to a land they probably never conquered, and they feed the myths about Nighlin itself, painting it to be a dark, gloomy, forested land haunted by night-walking monsters and ghouls. It is a cold, ghost-soaked land to which revolution and technology has never come easy. The Valdimere family still even live in leaking old castles in wolf-infested forests, like some rotting old monsters rattling around their crypt.
Vincent Valdimere is a break in tradition. He came to power after the death of his father, King Cyrus, was assassinated. It was probably his mother, he knows that much, because the crazy old bat is about as safe to be around as a rabid wolverine, but that's how it works in Nighlin. He'd quite like the change that. He'd be able to care for his children and hug them without worrying about them stabbing him the back. His own memories of his father are of a distant and inefficient father figure, authoritarian and bumbling, a puppet to his mother and the aristocrats, vaguely loathed by his inferiors, who was paranoid about his children usurping him.

Having lost their king, Valhurst found themselves in need of another ruler. According to the rules of Valhurst, the youngest child of the King and Queen takes the throne should the ruler die. In the case of King Soren and Queen Celestina, the rule applies to their youngest son, Dorian.
Dorian, however, was a wild child, not interested in much else besides flirting with the maids of the kingdom and spending the country's money. Queen Celestina broke the news that he was to take the throne, and get married, in order to ensure peace in the kingdom. If the citizens believe that the young prince is establishing a responsible lifestyle, they are more likely to believe in their country and not revolt.
His mother arranged a marriage to marry the daughter of a prominent count -- Count Mathis of Cerise -- to her son. Dorian was, at first, quite upset with the prospect of marrying Evangeline. He'd remembered her from tutoring when they were young children, before she moved to the countryside with her family, and she was not the most attractive of little girls and she only really liked being a tom boy. However, Angel was not a bit how Dorian remembered her. Instead, she's a beautiful, flirtatious girl -- one who is very upset that she has to split up with her sweetheart -- a stable boy named Rayner Walter Atticus.
After the wedding, Dorian found himself trying to prove a good husband to his young bride, who is still extremely in love with Rayner. So Angel is trying to accept Dorian, and Dorian is trying to understand what it means to be a king.

King: Gideon Augustus Ferdinand Felix Henry [19]
Queen: Octavia Emmeline Magdalen Louisa Violet [15]
From the Royal House of: Greybank
In The Kingdom of: Oleander
Gideon inherited the kingdom of Oleander from his late father Augustus, who had wished nothing more on his deathbed than to see his youngest son rule over Oleander with his young bride, Octavia. Octavia was a young, feisty sort who had never planned on marrying, but her parents had made the decision for her as it'd be extremely useful to them to have a stronger connection to the Oleander royalty. Her family ruled over the kingdom of Cotswold, only a few hours away by carriage. Many other young women had tried to get Gideon's hand in marriage, but their desperation turned him right off. Octavia fascinated him, and he knew he had to marry her. Eventually, Octavia had softened to the handsome prince, and agreed to marry him only days before his father suffered a terrible stroke and passed away.

King: Leor Malachy Johan Avocet Casimir(18)
Queen: Solandra Tirzah Meriall Cerily Lilyan "Sola"(17)
From the Royal House of: Cerise
In the Kingdom of: Gentian
Queen Solandra inherited the Kingdom from her father, the late King Alonzo. She was the only child of the King, and his Queen Eliora. In order to become Queen, Sola had to marry. While this was not a law, it was a custom for a Queen, especially a young one, to have a husband, so as to avoid any unnecessary scandal.
Sola was allowed to chose her husband from a pool of suitors her advisers had chosen. She chose Prince Leor, who was close to her own age, as well as being eligible and handsome. He was the middle son of the King of a neighboring nation, so he has royal blood, though he would not have inherited the kingdom of his birth.

King: Alexis Dmitry Esme Wystan [19]
Queen: Winnet Artemisia Tamsin Sakura [15]
From the Royal House of: Cerise
In the Kingdom of: Wycliffe
Alexis inherited the kingdom suddenly after his father died in a horse riding accident (a bit undignified for a King). He quickly married Winnet. Alexis and Winnet had been caring on a secret love affair for some time. They had to keep it secret because Alexis's father would not approve. Winnet isn't a commoner, but her family has only been noble for two generations. To Alexis's father that meant that Winnet and her family weren't truly noble. If he were still alive Alexis and Winnet wouldn't have been able to marry.
