[Opinions] Aquinnah
What do you all think of the name Aquinnah? Is it a useable name? Hard to say? Too uncommon? Do you know of anyone by this name?
Thanks!

Well, Aquinas for a boy, like Saint Thomas Aquinas, is an interesting thought.
Am I pronouncing Aquinnah correctly? I've never heard Michael J. Fox's daughter's name said out loud. From the spelling, it looks like, "ah-QUINN-uh." The double "n" makes the preceding vowel sound short. To get the long "i" sound of Aquinas, wouldn't the spelling have to be Aquina? And what's that Old Testament "h" doing on the end of a medieval saint name?
Perhaps this is a Native American name and I'm missing the point entirely. But if it is supposed to be the feminine form of Aquinas, then I could only like it spelled Aquina. That would be a very intriguing and beautiful name for a girl.

Lovely name!
Hey Jen!
I think Aquinnah is a beautiful name! It sounds very feminine and is definitely usable although it is rather uncommon. But I think it is especially that which makes this name unique. Unfortunately I don't know anybody with this name...! :-/ I also like Akilah (Ah-KEE-lah) which I think sounds pretty similar.
@Bex: I also like Aquinnas! :-)

I like it, but wouldn't use it myself. I think it has a lovely meaning - 'beautiful colours by the sea'. The only person I know by this name is Michael J. Fox's eldest daughter.

Aquinnah is a very pretty name. I would think it's a very useable name, but that's my opinion. It's not too hard to say for me but some people may have trouble with it. I personally believe that a name can't be TOO uncommon. I don't know and have never heard of anyone with this name.
Very Pretty!
It's kind of a guilty pleasure favorite of mine. I'd never use it (a little too 'out there' for most), but I think it's cute. :)

I think Aquinnah is a cool name for a girl. Michael J. Fox has a daughter by that name.
