Arabella? I think it's a gorgeous name but I can't stand the idea of it being shortened to Bella. Any other alternatives?

What about Ara, Ella, Elle, Belle, Rabel :). I think Ara is very nice, quiet and calm but vey strong too.

My husband's grandmother's middle name was Ara, so I think Ara would be a great nn choice.

Abby. Abby was a standard nn for Arabella, at least in the 1800s.

I've struggled with the same problem with Arabella for a while. What do you think of Ari? I've thought about it, but I'm not 100% sure. Or maybe Ara.

I really like Ari, it's what I ended up going with. Also you could stretch that and have Ari turn into Aries.
