Queen: Rosa Katarina Elizabeth Alexandra, Her Royal Highness Queen Rosa (23)
King Consort: Thaddeus Giacomo Matthias, His Royal Highness King Thaddeus (24)
-DPrincess: Mirabella Rosa Helen Katarina, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mirabella "Mira" (4)
-DPrince: Gabriel Thaddeus Alexander Bertram, His Royal Highness Prince Gabriel "Gabe" (2)
-DPrincess: Lilia Magdalena Tamara Danielle, Her Royal Highness Princess Lilia "Lily" (nb)
Of the Royal House of Gilain, of the kingdom of Tayel.
Drought followed by floods that destroyed crops have left Tayel's people going hungry. Rosa, raised to feel their plight as if it was her own, has donated as much of her own stores as possible, convinced noble families to donate, has negotiated with nearby kingdoms not affected by the natural disaster to trade for grain, and has spoken with people and tried to convince them to not give up hope. Just before the floods, she discovered she was pregnant again, something joyful for her and Thaddeus and their families, though the physicians worried that her determinationto give away her own food would lead her to not eat properly. Rosa, however, followed the same advice she had followed with Mira and Gabe. Mira was vastly excited about another baby and often expressed the hope that it would be a girl, so she could have a brother and a sister.
A few months before Rosa was due to deliver, tragedy struck. Her closest friend from childhood, the daughter of one of her mother's ladies-in-waiting, died in a riding accident. Lilia had been one of Rosa's closest advisors, one ofher most trusted confidants, and a very dear friend to Rosa and Thaddeus both. She had been one of their children's godmothers, their beloved "almost aunt." Rosa and Thaddeus both wept when they got the news. Her funeral was a sad occasion for the entire city, as Lilia had been a great friend and benefactor to all the poor and had been beloved for her liveliness and generosity. A few months later, the queen gave birth. This labor was shorter than either of the others, as if the baby was rushing to get into the world. It was a beautiful little girl, the very image of her mother as not even Mira was, especially since her hair had lightened to be closer to Thaddeus's chestnut color. She was christened Lilia Magdalena Tamara Danielle, Lily for short. Lilia of course was for their dear friend, Magdalena for Thaddeus's mother, and Tamara Danielle as names they had considered for her first name before Lilia's death. Lily was a very healthy and rosy baby the entire family even to Gabe loves, and the people thought that a healthy new princess might be a good omen.
This proved to be right, as soon after her birth two grain trade agreements were agreed upon and it was discovered that some varieties of seaweed that grew off the southern coast could be eaten. With these two new foods, people no longer face the possibility of starvation. Rosa is hoping that good times are once again on the horizon.
