[Facts] Origin of the female name Ostiane?
I know this rare name is used in France, Netherlands, Belgium and the South Pacific.
No idea of the origin, except Mary Shelley has a character named Ostiane in Frankenstein. Also there is the ancient city of Ostia?
I know in French Quebec they consider Osti a curse word. Any other ideas?

It may not help much, but Ostiane seems to have a male counterpart in the name Ostian. There was a 6th century saint in France of that name. Some info about him, in French:
