-Justin Hart (16)
-David Hart (14)
-Oliver Winston (26)
--The mission team are in need of strong people to help build shelter and carry food back to the beach. There are also many sick and injured people who need someone to give them water and food. Are Justin, David, or Oliver willing to follow Joel's command and lend a hand? And how do they feel about the new leader?
It all happened very fast. Neither Justin nor David had any idea what was going on. All they knew were, the loud screeches and arguments were suddenly stunned silent, and that an authoritative voice had taken control of the masses. Curious, they listened to Joel Abraham as he went around giving orders and organising people. As he watched them obey the man's words, Justin felt a pang in his heart - he's just like Dad, everyone obeys what Dad says. Justin sent a glance towards David, who was also staring at the new leader. No use making that comment to him.
In a while, people were scattered round about again, this time shouting for volunteers on one side and another. From amidst the (relatively organised) confusion, Oliver Winston made his way back to the brothers.
"Hey, I'm going to join the scouting team over there, just so you guys know."
David sprung to attention, almost losing his balance. "I'm coming with you," he said immediately.
The man shook his head. "I don't think so, man. You gotta rest here. You've just been lost yourself - I don't want to risk losing you again."
"I want to come with you." David was insistent. Already his hands folded and unfolded itself into a fist.
Justin was perplexed. While he could see why his brother would feel safer with his rescuer, he couldn't understand why David would want to desert him. Oliver, on the other hand, stood firm with his opinion. "But you can't, OK? Stay with your brother. Stick together."
David started trembling. It was, at first, barely noticeable, but it soon became apparent that his hands were shaking ever so slightly. When he finally spoke again, his teeth were ground together tightly. "I'm coming with you." His voice was level, strangely restrained. "I want to find my parents."
So that was it.
Oliver hesitated. He knew the boys must want to find their parents again (and as much as he hated to admit it, from the looks of it neither Hart adult has been spotted all the time they spent on the island), and he understood their anxiety to do something. What he did not know was how to keep either brother from doing anything rash. At last, Oliver let out a deep sigh and relented.
"Then I won't go, and you'll stay here as well."
From his crouching position on the ground, Justin has a lower view of either of his companions. He glanced first towards David, then Oliver, then David again. Before his brother could disagree, he interrupted: "That's a deal then, right Davy? But what'll you do then?"
"Probably help them attending the injured down there," Oliver shrugged. "Been with many kids complaining of headaches and cut knees in Anaheim," he tried to lighten the mood, not with much success that time.
"All right then," Justin nodded, placing a hand on David's arm, as if to restrain him. "We'll see what we can do later."
Oliver is helping attend the injured/sick, especially the children. He's glad for the order that has finally arrived, and doesn't mind Joel.
Justin is staying with his brother, probably will join some little help. Joel reminds him of his father, which makes him ache.
David is not doing much, staying with Justin and still rather unstable. He barely even notices what's going on, much less Joel.
