I live in İzmir (Smyrna)/Turkey. I am Jewish. I don't have any relationship alive with my Jewish relatives.
One of my old relative told me about surname Paligoria. While I was researching that name form Internet, I saw your message. For a while I was searching our Jewish relatives who immigrated to Israel and USA. I'm not sure but we can be relatives. I can also share the details of my family tree. Paligoria written with an "l" hardly gives any hits in a Google search, but Parigoria does. It seems probable to me that this is the same name/word, and somebody simply changed the hard-sounding "r" in there into a much more pleasing "l".
Parigoria is Greek for solace, consolation.
