[Opinions] Nadezhda
What do you think? I've always liked it and now I'm beginning to love it. It has such a beautiful meaning and sound. And what about Nadya? Would you use it as a nickname?
Thanks!

I like the name.
It's lovely. I like Nadya too. I think it would be a good nickname for Nadezhda.
I like more Nadežda. Diminutive attacking me Nadja and Nadine.
...
Nadezhda reads like "nah-dezh-da".

I prefer Nadežda too, but I thought the ž might be more confusing for English speakers.
I like it because of the meaning, but I think it may be a bit much for English speakers.
My daughter's name is Nadia, so of course I love that name.
The name means hope, which is just lovely, imo!

I've always kind of liked it. It's sweet and has an interesting sound. I've always liked Nadia, so I guess Nadya is okay. I would use Nadezhda as a nickname if it was part of my culture/heritage.
I wish I could like Nadezhda. But the "zh" and "d" sounds so close together grate in my ears.
How are you pronouncing it, by the way. I assume most people would say, "nah-DEZH-duh," just the way it's written. I've only ever heard it in Russian, "nah-DYEZH-duh" so I'm curious. (Actually, the "dy" comes out almost like a "j" sound.) It doesn't make any difference in my overall opinion of the name. I'm just curious how people are saying it.
I do love Nadya / Nadia though.

I'm saying nadyezhda (I am trying to learn some Russian), but either way is nice. I think nadyezhda sounds slightly softer.
Zh and d are quite awkward together, but I think I like that about Nadezhda. It stops it being overly pretty.

Oh my goodness crazy coincidence! Literally just found this name yesterday and now I'm totally in love with it. I love the sound, the meaning, and the name Nadya as a nn.

This name is in the "beautiful sounding, bad looking" category for me.
