[Opinions] Eunice
I like most Eu- names for girls. I like Eudora, Eulalie, Eugenia. But Somehow I always forget about poor Eunice. She's been growing on me lately. What do you think of Eunice? Too old fashioned to even make it into the old-lady-name trend?
Also, how do you say it? I say "YOO-niss", but I often hear "yoo-NEECE".

There's a rather distinguished girls' school about 5 hours drive from where I live. It's called Eunice, and very firmly pronounced you-NEE-see.
I'd prefer it as YOU-niss, but it doesn't seem quite human.

This name reminds me of urine.
I've never been able to get behind Eunice. The sound just doesn't really appeal to me (I say YOO-niss), and it also makes me think of "eunuch." I don't dislike it though, I just don't want to run up to it and give it a hug, either.

I like it very much, though I don't know if it's ready for a comeback.
I pronounce it "YOO-niss". I think that's how Eunice Kennedy Shriver pronounced her name.

I love Eunice. I think it's sweet and interesting and sharp all at the same time. I pronounce it YOO-niss also.
Oh, I love Eunice, but my opinion is never very representative of a broader demographic -- there are very few (if at all) "old-lady" names that don't pluck at my heart.

I pronounce it Yoo-niss. It's just so old that I'm afraid it will fall apart.
Not quite my cup of tea, but it's not bad. I can see it on a little girl.

It may be because I'm a name-nerd, but I like it a lot. It has a sweet old lady feel. I'm thinking most people may think it's too old-fashioned, but I love it.
