[Opinions] Re: Sunniva and Shirin
in reply to a message by Ismene
Shirin is one of my favorite names. I know some American aid workers in Afghanistan who gave that name to their daughter. It's so sweet. I also watched a movie called Shirin by Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, about a group of Iranian women watching a film based on the legend of Shirin and her lover Khosrow-- very fascinating.
Sunniva is pretty, too. Gwen Sunniva sounds great.
I like the idea of using slightly unusual (maybe hard to pronounce) names as middle names, just to save the child from headaches and questions, but also give them something special and unique.
From your name list I like:
Adela Shirin
Athena Shirin
Celia Shirin
Fiona Shirin
Gemma Shirin
Harriet Shirin
Isla Shirin
Lydia Shirin
You have a lot of great names on your list, btw! :)
