I've always thought it was neat, but I put it in the same catagory as Ebenezer (which I also think is nice) that of having a really nice sound but having some rather negative connections.
Just as Ebenezer will almost always make people think of Dicken's old miser Ebenezer Scrooge so Ichabod will almost always make people think of Ichabod Crane, it's not that bad of a connection but it's a little strange.
Also the meaning of Ichabod is rather negative it's a Bibical name that means "where is the glory?" or rather "the glory has departed" meaning that it's not altogether a good thing. And the nickname Icky which could be teased a lot.
It does have a strong masculine feel to it though! :)
