[Opinions] Katinka

I've always liked it, even before the other nns of Katharine names became so tediously megatrendy. I can see it on a cheerful baby, a pretty young woman and a strong, pleasant person in late middle age.
It's a bit.. cute. It does seem like a nickname.

I can't help but think of that scene from Zoolander when I see that name. Which is ok, she was a strong female character.
I had a friend in art school call me Katinka the whole four years we were there, so it makes me think of art and fun times and being loud. Good feelings.
I think it could stand on its own and age fairly well, but you'd have to be a certain kind of person to pull it off. A pudgy, unglamorous, shrinking violet Katinka would be sad to see.
It actually tickles me to think of a Katharine or Katharina being called Katinka.

I think it sounds like "tinker," or worse even "tinkle." Even without those associative words, the sound is still rather ridiculous and flimsy. I'm sorry but it sounds like a porn star.
I've never heard of it before, but it's so light-hearted and fun I could say it all day.
I do think I like it better as a nickname.

I used to work with a woman named Kathryn but she always went by Tinka.
I could do that... Katherine nn Tinka...
I have liked it since I was a child, I always called myself Katinka when I pretended to be a cat. :) I think it definitely works on it own.
I like it. It works on its own.
I prefer Katenka as I don't like the 'tink' part of the name. It makes me think of tinker toys. Or Tinkerbell. Or the act of tinkering...
there are tinker toys, ha, I thought I was dreaming. need to google them now.
