DH: Charmant Alexander James "Char" (19)
DW: Eleanor Rosalia "Ella" (17)
-DD: Eleanora Amanda Arianne "Nora" (nb)
Book: Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
Girls: Seraphina Cecilia Elizabeth Daria Katarina
Boys: Michael Gerald Charles Roderick Andrew
When she discovered she was pregnant about six months after their wedding, Ella at once ran to tell Char. Both were thrilled, and they discussed names off and on for months. They settled on names to use for a girl quickly enough--Eleanora, to continue the tradition in Ella's family, and Amanda, after Mandy. But they bickered a little over the amount of names. Char's family used three, Ella's two. Ella thought three too many, and as usual now that the curse is broken refused to give way. This continued through until the baby was born--a beautiful baby girl with Ella's dark hair and Char's mouth. Then the king and queen stepped in and talked to Ella, telling her that it was a tradition in their family to use three names. Since they had followed her tradition with the first name for a girl, she agreed to add a third name, but only if it could be after Areida. Char agreed at once and they added Arianne, the Kyrrian equivalent. Areida is one of the new princess's godparents, and Mandy of course is her fairy godmother. Lucinda did visit after the birth, but the only gift she gave was a teething ring that would grow as her hands and mouth did.
Ella and Char are completely in love with little Nora, as they at once began to call her. She is a good baby but does demand attention. Luckily there are many people willing to lavish it on her. They do have a nurse for her, but the nurse often says she has the easiest job in the palace, because Ella and Char almost always have Nora with them. She can be found in a basket in the kitchen while Ella and Mandy cook, in Char's arms as he studies ogre movements and meets with dignitaries, or with them both almost any time they go out into the city. Dame Olga and Hattie all sent simpering letters of congratualtions, though Ella refuses to allow them anywhere near her daughter. Olive sent a letter too, much more direct, just telling Ella that babies were good things but she wouldn't want one. Sir Peter did visit and admire his granddaughter, though he left very soon after declaring that she looked like Ella.
