[Opinions] Re: BA: Geneva Constance
in reply to a message by Kate
There is more than a whiff of the Puritan about her parents! Triumph Perseverance is totally Civil War; Knox and Cromwell honour two Reformation luminaries; and Geneva, home of John Calvin, takes it even further. But, the good part there is that by using Geneva and Constance together, the little girl scores three times: constance being a virtue name like Perseverance and I suppose Defender and Loyal, and Lake Constance being a geographical feature! Two names, and three resounding references! And she can even choose whether to go by Jenny or Connie. Oh yes, she's a lucky lass all right.

I didn't even think of John Knox. I immediately thought of Fort Knox. I pictured a military recruit guarding the gold inside. Not the image I'd want for a child. The John Knox reference makes more sense.
