Nerissa and Thomas have been extremely happy in their first year of marriage together. Alexandra still doesn't approve of Nerissa's choice of a husband, but is polite to her new son in law for the sake of her daughter. Nerissa and Thomas decided to remain at the palace because both of their families live there, Nerissa's as royalty, and Thomas' as servants. Despite her disaproval, Alexandra was forced to put all that behind her when Nerissa announced she was pregnant. Alexandra was overjoyed at the idea of her first grandchild and went all out decorating the new baby's room. Nerissa didn't think it was possible, but this pregnancy had brought her and her husband even closer than before. They were ecstatic when Nerissa finally gave birth to their son. They named him Nicomedes Atticus Demetrius, Atticus after Thomas' father and Demetrius after Nerissa's father. Nerissa loves her new baby boy and can't wait to see him grow up.
Amongst all the excitement from little Nico's birth, Alexandra threw all of her efforts into planning the perfect wedding for Antonius who was less than thrilled to be getting married. Alexandra was still upset that Demetrius was forcing their son to do this, but she could never resist throwing a party. She generally approved of Juliette as she came from one of the wealthiest families in Kriana. Antonius finds her quiet and shy disposition undesirable, however he can't help but be attracted to her physical beauty. The two had an extremely elaborate celebration, followed closely by Antonius' graduation from the military academy. Alexandra is saddened to see her son growing up so soon, however she is extremely proud of him.
Dominic has been focusing all of his efforts on his social and love life, not unlike his mother was at his age. He is more interested in staying out with his friends in the palace and flirting with young ladies than with his studies. He was sad to see his brother marry Juliette, because Dominic felt differently toward her than any other girl he flirted with. Aurelia has recently shown a great talent for painting and drawing, and enjoys creating art for her friends and family. Leon has developed a love and talent for musical instruments, especially the piano. He is also a talented archer and hunter and enjoys going on overnight hunts with his father, uncles, and cousins.
Arista's attitude and sense of superiority have heightened recently, as she discovered that she could use her looks and social position to her advantage, similar to Alexandra. She orders servants twice her age around and even tries to command those who do not work for her family. Demetrius doesn't like his daughter's horrible attitude, but isn't sure what to do about it. As usual, Alexandra is blind to her children's faults and only sees her daughter as a beautiful girl who can do no wrong in her mother's eyes. As her siblings got older and became interested in their own pursuits, Milania became her mother's shadow. While she refuses to get dirty and really play with her daughter, Alexandra is happy to watch Milania, and then hand her off to a servant to be cleaned off. Alexandra loves Milania's carefree attitude and fun spirit.
