This is new to me. I'm saying "uh-LESS-ee-uh and guessing that's correct since it's related to Alexis. I'm enjoying the softness of the short "e" and the double "s". I would hope people wouldn't assume it to be a creative spelling of Alicia/Alecia. They shouldn't since, generally in English, a double consonant makes the vowel preceding short. Ideas...hmmm...

Ooo, neat. My husband has suggested Alexis before, but I hesitate on "the Alexes". I think I just grew up around too many of them. In the meantime I've fallen for Alessandro for a boy, but never noticed Alessia for a girl. I like it. Thanks. :o)

Alessia is beautiful and alluring. It's has an air of mystery and adventure to it. I associate it with the Crusades, for some reason (Aleppo?). That's not necessarily a good thing. But it isn't interfering with my affection for Alessia.
