Hermione and William were thrilled to welcome their first son into the world a few months ago! Little Robert is a stalwart little infant, with his father's fair hair and light eyes. The girls are happy to have a little brother and Athena and Leda both want to hold him and help take care of him. Melaina is curious of the new child and plays with his toes while their mother feeds him.
The Great Matter places Hermione and William in a strange place. They hold titles both as new appointees and old nobility, by virtue of William's birth. As such, they are on neither side of the matter passionately, and hope that a middle ground can be reached between the new and the old. As tensions grown, Hermione and William have garnered a lot of attention as the highest ranking old nobility family in the realm. They are calling for the Rey-Anson family to swing the queen's opinion one way or the other.
On the half-breed issue, the couple generally supports equal rights for half-breeds. They have met Romolo Magro several times and his charisma has swayed them from a general distrust of half-breeds into a more tolerant opinion.
Hermione's magic skill continues to improve and she is known throughout the lands as a formidable battlemage. When she is not heavily pregnant, she often helps clear the backroads of bandits and thieves, as well as helping to put out fires, aid failing crops, and set protective charms. The Arch Mage's age increases and the general consensus in the mage community is that Hermione will succeed him when he passes away or retires.
Athena and Leda are both mages as well. Athena shares her mother's talent and silver threads arose in her eyes a year or two ago, confirming her mother's belief that Athena has much potential. She continues to tutor with her mother, and shows interest in physical training as she grows older. Leda, on the other hand, is a mellower type of mage, more patient and methodical with her magic. Hermione intends to send her to study with Lord Ambrose, the Chief Healer, in a few years. Melaina and Robert have shown no signs of magical ability yet, and William in some ways looks forward to having non-magical children who may pursue careers outside their magical talents, as those with magical powers are strongly expected to make use of their gifts directly.
