The Waterside Family is in the middle of a termoil amongst their nation and themselves. Magnus is of the old families and believes that those of the old family should remain in their positions and titles.
Coral who no one but Magnus and perhaps the healer have come to realize is half blood. She is a Corrigan although of mixed blood her father was a human mage. Coral is supportive of the equal treatment of all people.
Kalli has proven to be a prodogy mastering Corrigan skills her mother is unaware of. People are even more suspecting because the spells Kalli has mastered are not in the same nature as those of the mage and some of her power does not require spells.
Sander is a handsome boy who is full of energy, he has not shown any powers but gets healing and regeneration from the water. He spends much time at the ports with his family.
Ari the tag along to his big brother shows no abilities either, he is the most human like of the children. He resembles his father the most and has a strong fiery stubborn mind.
The most difficult pregnancy of all her children Coral had the hardest time baring not one but two growing babies in her belly. The magic inside her grew and she was brought early to the healer to help with the fear of birthing too early. Coral still delivered her twins earlier then one would hope but both were large and healthier then would expect. Zosime looks like her father and brother with darker hair while Zephyr looks like Kalli and Coral with fair blonde hair. Both children appear to be extremely magical. They have a way of communicating with one another and their mother better then Kalli did. Zoe and Zeph seem to channel energy between each other and are stronger and more powerful then either of their sibling.
Coral fears that she will not be able to pass the twins power off as a mage. Both twins have light gray eyes not purple like the mages in Kriana.Coral does not want to expose her position as a mixed blood race let alone her race. Coral does not wish to bring shame on her husband. Coral still quietly fears that the Nozgain leader Bran will find his way to this side of the Ocean and drag her back to the Isle of Apple, if not kill her. Coral has vision of the Nain people and while they seem to be in no immediate threat she fears that if she returns she will give them over to the Nozgain.
