[Facts] Arania
Anyone have any info on this female name? There is a user submission that says that it is Persian and means spider. Can anyone verify this?

Well, Spanish araña, pronounced more or less like 'arania', means spider:

The word is derived from a Latin word that is in turn derived from a Greek word:

Maybe Persian borrowed the Greek 'arachne' somehow as well, as a loanword, however I don't know how to check that.
With so many new, old and very old words similar to 'arania' floating around it is probably impossible to get a clear picture.
Anyway, somehow I doubt that somebody anywhere would name his or her child 'spider'. But who nows, strange things happen.
