[Opinions] Lorraine
This was one of my favorite names when I was younger, and I still like it very much.
What do you think of Lorraine? Do you like it? Is it too dated?

This was my grandmother's middle name, only she spelled it Loraine.
I like it- it's very pretty.

It's beautiful. I'm surprised it isn't more popular considering how popular Lauren and names with long "A" sounds are these days. It definitely has a vintage vibe, but it's not too dated. I'd love to encounter it more often.
Lorraine is okay but I prefer the name Lorianne :)

I LOVE this name! I almost forgot about it. I might add it onto my list :)
When I was a kid, the street I lived on in Montreal was Lorraine. I remember when we moved there I thought it was so cool and pretty. It reminded my of Lorraine in Back to the Future (Marty's mom). Back to the future was one of my favorite movies.
To me it doesn't sound dated. It sounds like a classic, pretty, French name. It reminds me of my childhood in Montreal :)

I like Lorraine. I think it's very pretty, but it also does seem a little bit dated still.
love.
Do you live in Ireland? I only ask because my two cousins (who are sisters) both loved the name. One got to use it first, so the other had to settle for Lauren.
It was a surprise to me that anyone even remembered the name Lorraine. And then to have two sisters vying for it? Perhaps it was a family name for them from the other side of the family. But I hope not. I hope Lorraine is popular somewhere in the world. It's an overlooked gem in my book, at least here in the U.S. It's not dated to me because it's a place name and those are in vogue now.
I've suggested Lorraine as a formal name for Rain / Raine, since that name has become popular here. But I never seem to get any positive responses. :-(

What a great idea! I am definitely adding this to my list now (with Raine as a NN)! I hope my DH like it. I am really excited.
So what if it's dated? I like it! I don't think I'd use it, but it has a nice sound to it.
I do like Lorraine. She's been on my list for ages, though neglected because I found it tough to pair her in a way I really loved. I should try working on her again. Thanks for reminding me of her. I never knew/heard any Lorraine(s) growing up...perhaps that's why she's never felt dated to me.
I loved Lorraine too when I was younger!
I do think it is very dated. I still like it but not as much. I might use it as a middle name.
