Fourteen years has passed for the Ruperstons too, and things have moved on for them. During his teenage years, Perseus finally had the nerve to present his boyfriend to his parents. Charles and Alice were shocked, conservative old-fashioned folk they were, but decided that Perseus should have his right to choose. In time, Riordan has found himself a girlfriend, and Ingrid has gotten a boyfriend. Charles and Alice insist, to her irritation, that Octavia is "too young" for dating yet. But, they were a bit worried about Remus, just in case he turned out to be gay like his twin (they were careful not to find any surprises!). But one day, Remus talked to them about this friend of his - Maisie North, daughter of former pop star Topher North. Remus and Maisie married a few months before Perseus and his boyfriend, and soon they were expecting the first third-generation Rupertson!

The North family have aged up, too, and quite pleasantly at that. The Clunky Chunks had a revival tour once, and after that Topher decided to retire from his music career entirely (save for a few reunions now and then). Topher and Lily now basically live for their children - of which, unexpectedly, the youngest is the first to marry! Maisie is expecting a child of her own, but she won't tell her family what the baby's name will be (actually because she and her husband haven't decided yet).
