I like it too; the only thing that puts me off somewhat is that I used to know people with a daughter named Brunhilde who was known as Bruni. So I've got to focus on the word ending before I'm sure what gender I'm encountering.
Which wouldn't be a problem for a real person, and even less so for a character.
Bruno seems dependable but zingy, which is also good!
