Duke Maurice Olivier Georges Alain Durant (20)
Duchess Élisabeth Gabrielle Madeleine Arianne Durant (20) **Niece of King Charles & Queen Juliette, raised by them since the age of 6**
-DD: Juliette Élisabeth Jacqueline Adele Honorine "Julie" (nb)
Station: Duke & Duchess

After several happy months of wedded life, Élisabeth discovered she was pregnant. She was frightened after what happened to dear Juliette, but she was excited as well. Maurice was overjoyed, toasting to his child and the continuation of the Durant line. All of Élisabeth's cousins except Cécile were expecting children as well, and it was fun to sit with Ninon, Valentina, and Joséphine discussing names and selecting materials for baby clothes. She missed Bella, who was also expecting, dreadfully during this time, and the two wrote as often as possible. She also spent a great deal of time with Diana, who is dreadfully lonely becaue of Joseph's behavior. The entire family is furious with Joseph for his behavior, but he has never listened to Élisabeth at the best of times. She and he love one another of course, but every time Élisabeth has ever tried to give him advice he has always just called her bossy and laughed her off. She has asked Maurice to help her "brother-cousins" in turnign him around. Maurice is such a sensible and considerate man she knows he couldn't help having a good influence on him.She and Maurice only grew closer during her pregnancy, and both were rather put out when their blissful life was interrupted. They were sent to France, as an effort to keep the peace. Neither was pleased to leave, especially with only a few months to go in Élisabeth's pregnancy, but wheat could they do? At least they would be spending time with Cécile, who though she is treated well in the French court and is growing to be fond of her betrothed, Prince Philippe, misses her family terribly. The two "sister-cousins" spent time together whenever they could. Only a month after arriving in France, they heard the rumors about Philippe, which both of them discredit entirely. They know Philippe wouldn't lead a rebellion like that. Cécile refuses to believe that he would ever do anything but support Leopold, but Élisabeth cannot help be worried. She adores Philippe, but she knws he does not think his twin is a capable king. Élisabeth knows Leopold can and will be strong when it is needed, but she only hopes Philippe doesn't give up on him within that time.Three months into her stay in France, Élisabeth gave birth to a baby girl. She promptly named her Juliette. She had wanted a daughter just so she could name her after her beloved cousin. Élisabeth is of course after herself and her mother, for whom she herself was named. Jacqueline is after Maurice's mother, and Adele is after the French queen of the war, for she and Maurice deemed it a diplomatic move as the child was born in France. Honorine is after Élisabeth's mother again. Julie, as they call her for short, is a plump and sweet baby with Maurice's dark-golden hair and Élisabeth's blue eyes, but both think her hair will darken to chestnut like Élisabeth's. Everyone marvels at her beauty. Élisabeth wasn't worried when she found out the baby was a girl, for she and Maurice had talked it over and he said he didn't care in the least what the first baby was so long as it was healthy--they were young and would undoubtably have sons at some point, so what did it matter when they came? Both simply take joy in their sweet and beautiful baby girl and can't wait to meet the other children. Élisabeth smiled when she discovered that Bella, Philippe, and Leopold all also honored Juliette as their children were born. It warms her heart to know that her dearest friend will be honored. Juliette's daughter Elsie will be coming to visit her French family soon, much to Élisabeth's delight. She cannot wait to see the sweet little girl again and has written begging Ninon, her only cousin who could easily get away, to come and visit her with her new son.
