The kids have all grown a lot in the past twelve years. Ryan and Lori are still busy--with four teenage boys at home, nothing is ever quiet.
Zahra graduated from college last May with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She married her long-time boyfriend, a Polish student named Lechoslaw Bolek Sokolsky. Zahra and "Lee" met their freshman year. Lee returned to Poland the next year, and somehow the two of them maintained a relationship for two years until Lee had saved up enough money to return to America and finish up his schooling. Lee majored in International Business, so he is often away on trips to faraway places. Zahra also likes to travel, and for their honeymoon, the two of them took a whirlwind tour of South America. Last month, Zahra and Lee welcomed their first children--twin girls! The girls have Polish names, but nicknames that don't sound foreign.
Mona is in her senior year at college, and she is also studying education. She has a boyfriend, but isn't sure how serious he is about getting married after school. Mona loves animals and wants to have many dogs and cats when she gets her own place.
Brendan is in his junior year of college. He is studying architecture and is planning to get a master's degree in Architectural Design. Brendan is highly focused on his schoolwork, and doesn't have time for girlfriends.
Hwan and Myung are in high school--they're sophomores. They've adjusted well to American culture, and often go by their middle names--Ben and James. They are very athletic and both excel in many sports. Lori limits them to one sport per season; however.
Isaiah and Ian are very different boys. Isaiah is a creative, quiet pre-teen who enjoys acting and writing short stories. Ian is very outgoing and much more athletic--like Ben and James. His favorite sport is ice hockey, and he has devoted a significant amount of time to the sport since he was seven years old.
