Life with Aya, Benny, and Zo was not easy for Tom and Felicia, but they couldn't have imagined it any other way. Their little girls and boy were absolute joys, and it extremely rewarding to see them grow. The twins look almost stereotypically like their parents, with Aya having her mother's auburn hair and violet eyes and most of her features and Benny with Tom's dark brown hair and green eyes and features. Zo was a mix of the two, with dark hair and violet eyes, but she resembles her mother a little more than her father. Aya was definately the ring leader of the group. Adventurous and perhaps a little too brave, she would lead her willing accomplice (Benny) into games that sometimes got them into trouble. Benny, though, was always all for whatever she thought up. Tom and Felicia were glad when the two started pre-K and could be kept out of trouble--hopefully. Zo is still too little to get involved in their stunts, and though only a toddler she is exceptionally bright. She can already count to ten and carry on conversations, and Felicia and Tom both expect her to read early. She is a rather quiet toddler, but she is still always giggling over something. Both the twins adore her, and sometimes people joke that they are her "little parents."
A few months after the twins started pre-K, Felicia and Tom found out they were pregnant again! They had not expected another baby so soon, but were very excited nonetheless. They debated for a while over names once they found out the sex, and had just settled on a name when Felicia went into labor on a stormy August day. After a relatively brief labor, Felicia gave birth to their baby girl and the name they had chosen went out the window. She was a big, strong, healthy girl and her cry was strangely rich and tuneful. This is what led Tom to begin thinking of musical names for her, as he swore with a voice like that she would be a singer someday. Felicia agreed and suggested Cecilia, for the patron saint of music. She then suggested Amity as a middle name, as she felt sure that her little girl would grow up to be a very sweet and friendly girl. Both twins were excited about a new sister, and Zo was utterly fascinated by little Celie, as they decided to call her. She seems to realize that she is not a baby doll like most children her age think, but she doesn't quite know what to make of her. She seems to like her, though.
On the day they brought Celie home from the hospital, Felicia noticed a cat hanging around their front porch. Always an animal lover, she put out a little food for it and thought no more of it. Then the next day and the day after that she saw it as well, and after a week Tom found her curled up on the doormat one morning, purring contentedly, and she chirped a greeting in that way that cats have. The family accepted that the cat thought it belonged to them now. The twins and Zo were extremely excited about having a pet, but Tom and Felicia insisted on taking her to the vet before they allowed her anywhere near their newborn daughter. The cat was given a clean bill of health, a flea dip, and her shots, and on the way home Tom and Felicia jokingly called her Stella, the name they had bee set on before Celie was born. The name seemed to fit her, as she was a tortiseshell who looked rather like pictures of the Mily Way, and it stuck.
