DH: Prince Taddeo Silvestro Leonardo, Prince Taddeo of Venice (20)
DW: Princess Magdalena Teresa Alexandra Edith, Princess Magdalena (19)
-DD: Katarina Adelheid Lucia Elizabeth, Duchess Katarina of Bruk (nb)
Rank: Princess and Prince (sister and brother-and-law to the king)
Magdalena was greatly saddened and worried by the marriage of her sister. She was not against an alliance with the French--that she was in favor of--but she objected strongly to the use of a woman, especially their sister, as a political pawn. As she said to her brother, "Fluent French isn't a reason to marry!" She had married for love, and she wanted her sister to do so as well even though they were not close. But Adelheid was like her brother, and was determined to do her duty and went to France. Magdalena accompanied her, trying to lend moral support, and she was dismayed when they met the Dauphin. Though not deformed and half-witted like the rumors said, he was quite ugly and very strange. Magdalena tried to tell her sister she didn't have to go through with it, but Adelheid just replied, "Some put their duty to Bial before our own personal happiness." Magdalena went back to her husband with serious doubts.
Soon Magdalena had other things to think about. She discovered that she and Taddeo were going to have a baby! They were both very excited and the months seemed to go by so slowly. She wrote her sister often, but received few replies except about Charles, her sister's brother-in-law. Magdalena couldn't help be glad Adelheid had someone in France to comfort her, though she worried about her obvious attraction to him. Married happiness and pregnancy put Adelheid somewhat to the back of her mind, and she and Taddeo were both thrilled when their beautiful daughter was born. They named her Katarina, a name both of them liked, and Taddeo suggested Adelheid as a middle name to help heal the rift between the sisters. Magdalena thought it was a wonderful idea, and added Lucia and Elizabeth after her and Taddeo's mothers. Katarina, ot Kat as she affectionately calls her, has the black hair of her father, but she was born with Kaarmann blue eyes and Magdalena is sure she is going to keep them. Neither is in the least disappointed about a daughter, as there is no real pressure to produce a male heir. Baby Kat was given the title Duchess of Bruk by her uncle the king, who was still glowing over the birth of his own son a few months before. Magdalena adores both of her nephews and was one of the few who was truly excited when she heard her sister had had a baby girl as well, literally days before she herself gave birth. She was so enraptured with her daughter that she forgot to write Adelheid for weeks, and she had to laugh when she learned her niece's name was Catherine. She thought it very funny their daughters had the same first and one of the same middle names, though she knew Adelheid couldn't have chosen Catherine. She had always said her children's names would stand out, and Magdalena had lost count of the Catherines at the French court. Magdalena hopes that Adelheid reads the intent of Kat's first-middle name and sees she wants to be friends. She and Taddeo are hoping to visit her as soon as Kat is a little older, as she very much wants to meet her niece.
These are pretty close to how I imagine them, except Magdalena has the family blue eyes of course:
