There's Zadig, which is apparently an old Yiddish name and a form of Zadok. I quite like it. And Zigor, which has a great sound - but unfortunately, a pretty grim meaning.

I don't think Ziggy needs to be short for anything. It works well on its own and it's actually pretty cool in my opinion. But I think it is very much associated with Ziggy Stardust/David Bowie so unless he's the reason why you love Ziggy I guess it's a good idea to use Ziggy as a nickname and not a full name. I like Sigismund. It's been growing on me lately (don't really like Zigismund though). Sigvard and Sigurd are not that bad either but Sigismund nn Ziggy is my favorite.

I love Ziggy as a nickname for Sigmund and, to a lesser extent, for Siegfried.
