[Games] Britt Revives the Compromise Congrats Sign-Up REPOST
*I'm reposting this since so few people signed up when I posted it the first time. Please resign-up here if you signed up below.I really used to like these when they were en vogue, and no one's done one in a while so I thought I'd revive it! This one is going to be faiirly realistic, in that you and your "spouse" will be able to choose the number of children you have (anywhere from three to eight), will have some control over how far you want them spaced, and all genders will be chosen by random coin flip. You and your "Spouse" can choose to make a name list here at the sign up or to just suggest names for each child as you go. Each round will progress four years, and I will decide based on what you decided about number and spacing how many children you have had in that time space. Be warned, you may get a surprise child thrown in for the later rounds! Twins wil be thrown in randomly (sorry, no higher-order multiples!). In the sign-up you and your partner must describe your looks, your families, how you met, and your lives at the moment including your jobs and where you live. Be as detailed or as brief as you want, and stories are greatly encouraged and enjoyed with each round!Just in case anyone has forgotten or doesn't know how a compromise congrats works, one person signs up, and then the next person to sign up does so as a reply to the first person's sign-up. During the rounds you two will discuss names and together come up with a name for your child. Anyone not getting a child during a round will get a pet, niece or nephew, godchild, or something else to name so you can still play the round. Same-sex couples are allowed, but indicate somehow in your sign-up that you want a same-sex partner, and you and your partner must decide whether you want to adopt or have children by artificial means. So, the sign-up form, which will be posted as the last message in your thread with your partner:UNs:

My name is Wentworth Talbot. My father is Frank Talbot, V, of Talbot Industries. I am his heir-apparent, even though I have an older brother.I was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut; I had a silver-spoon upbringing. When I was young, I (and my parents) thought that my brother, Harry, would be taking over the company that has been in our family for five (soon-to-be six) generations. However, Harry was always too busy being selfish and squandering whatever money our parents would give him. Eventually, my parents cut Harry out of their will, and my father began grooming me to take over the company, which I’ll be doing in another two or three years.I went to Yale, like my father, my grandfather, my great-grandfather, and my great-great-grandfather; I graduated top of all my classes. I participated in a play or two, and I was a Whiffenpoof singer.Ever since I was a young boy, I have wanted a large family. I suppose this stems from only having one brother and not being very close to him.My Family:
Father: Francis Harold ‘Frank’ Talbot, V [60]
Mother: Theresa Marjorie (née Wentworth) Talbot [51]
Brother: Francis Harold ‘Harry’ Talbot, VI [31]
Me: Wentworth Richard Talbot [27]By the way, I have short black hair, blue eyes, and a pale complexion.

Hello, Wentworth. My name’s Olivia Abrams, everyone just calls me Liv, though. I grew in Ferriday, Louisiana and am part of the working-class. My Father works as an elementary school teacher while my Mother is a Doctor.I went to University in Baton Rouge and am now a police officer. My older brother Jamie followed in my Mother’s footsteps at first, playing Doctor and such, but as he got into High School he focused more on art and is now a photographer in New York. My younger brother Will owns a small bookstore with his pregnant wife, Jacqueline. And my youngest brother, Charlie, just got out of nursing school and Mom got him a job at her hospital. My only sister, who was kind of an accident, is still in school.I like the size of my family, five kids, but wouldn’t mind a couple more or a couple less if you are opposed to that many.Oh, and I have long, wavy brown hair and hazel eyes, as do most of my siblings. My Family:

Hello, Liv. Your accent is delightful. So, how did we meet? Were we both at a showing of your brother Jamie's art? I have an apartment in New York (also, one in Boston), so that isn't inconceivable.Or did we meet in Louisiana? I would hate to think my brother might be getting into trouble down there (although I am the one who usually cleans up his messes).Five kids sounds wonderful, but only if you are alright with that. After all, you are the one who will be giving birth to the children...I should let you know that it is a tradition in my family to name a son after the maiden name of the mother; this isn't a problem for me, as I like the name Abram(s), but if you don't, then we'll have an issue.
vote up1
Why, thank you.I think meeting at one of Jamie's showings would make the most sense, and five children sounds just peachy. I also think two or more years between children is ideal, since I do plan on continuing to work and don't want to be on maternity leave constantly.Although...do we have to use Abram/Abrams as a first name? I don't mind using it as a middle name but as a first name I don't particularily like it.

Well, we can discuss Abram/Abrams later; no use worrying about it if we never have a son. I agree that two or more years is ideal for spacing between children.Anyhow, where do we live? As I said, I have apartments in NYC and Boston, but I don't think raising children in the city is wise (and I'd be very worried about your safety as a New York or Boston police-woman). Would you be willing to move to New England? I need to be in the area, at least for now, as my father is still preparing me to take over Talbot Industries. We don't have to live in Connecticut; we could buy a house in the suburbs in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

This is Chiara Danielle Hambledon speaking. Twenty-seven years ago, I was born to Lewis Jack and Lauren Chloe Hambledon. I grew up in Scotland, where I and all my siblings were born, but I am now hopping around a little bit. Being one of the middle children of a large family, I learned much about the roles of both elder siblings and younger ones. When the time comes for me to begin a family of my own, I would certainly like a big one. DDad: Lewis Jack Hambledon (62)

Hello! My name is David Achilles Carter. I'm 28 years old and was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Growing up in the cold and rain I've always longed for moving to a warmer place as I settle down - maybe Florida, California or France? But I'm an adaptable man and can adjust to where you wish to live!
As for now I live in Phoenix, Arizona, and work as a nurse. I come from a rather small family, it was just my brother and I after our parents died in a car accident, when I was just four years old. After that we lived with our grandparents. That made us pretty close so if we ever have a son, I'd like our son's name to honour Gabriel in some way.Father: Bradley Achilles Carter (deceased at 31)
Mother: Joni Melissa [Manley] Carter (deceased at 29)
ME: David Achilles Carter (28)
Brother: Gabriel Hector Carter (25)I have straight, black hair and blue eyes. My wish is to have a family with many kids, at least more than 4. I don't mind them being close in age either!

Florida might be a nice place to settle down. Or France might be cool. But why don't we stick with Florida for now?I forgot to put what job Chiara is doing. She's a part-time grammar and composition teacher at a private school while also working as a journalist for a small town newspaper. How should we have met? Why don't you put down a couple of suggestions, and I'll choose the one I think is best (and feel free to make comments on which one you like best, too)? And names. Why don't we choose as we go along? I find that to be more enjoyable than picking out a bunch of random names beforehand, don't you?

Florida sounds good for now! Big city or on the countryside? Maybe we met when you where taking a roadtrip with some friends across US. You ended up in Phoenix one night and since one of your friends needed stitches at the hospital we bumped into eachother there? We kept in contact with mails and a couple of months later we decided to come visit eachother?Or maybe I was living in your town for couple of weeks and send some of my poems to the local newspaper. Since you also managed the poem section at the newspaper, you read them and really liked them, which led to that you contacted me for taking a cup of coffee. We started talking and realised that we had a lot in common!Or why not simply, we were on the same train in Seattle (I had just visited my brother there and was going back home to Phoenix) and it got stuck for hours. We started to talk to make the time pass faster and before the train started moving again we were already in love! What do you say? :) I like any of these stories!Yeah, we'll discuss names further as it goes!

I'm Noah Michael Blum. I was born and raised in Providence, RI. My father is Jewish, my mother is Catholic so while I was raised to be aware of both religions my family was never really religious. I am the oldest of five siblings with three little sisters and one little brother. We aren't very close in age but are very close to each other. I hope to have a large family as well. I currently am currently the assistant manager of a hotel in Newport, RI. It is an international chain though so I am hoping to work my way up to a position that includes more traveling.DH: David Herschel Blum (50)

Hi Noah!Where do you think we should live? I see your job is in Rhode Island. I've never been there, but would be open to living there.Do you have any idea how we met? I was thinking maybe I decided to go to school in the states and we met in college or something or maybe I stayed at your hotel.

Rhode Island is quite a nice place, I don't really plan on staying here to much longer though. How do you feel about traveling a bit before settling? I was thinking we met while both attending college sometime during my junior year and your freshman year. We did not get together right away, but the next year we realized we were much more than friends. After graduation, and may I say much to the dismay of Grammy Mullins, we got married in a traditional Jewish ceremony.I forgot earlier to include my photo:

You're cute :)I'd love to travel and live in many places. As a translator I know many languages including (but not limited to): Hebrew, English, Yiddish, German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, Polish, and Russian. We love to joke around? Don't we?Your poor poor Grammy doesn't like me much and thinks because she's old, she can say and do whatever she likes, but that's okay because I don't plan to name anything after her.How many kids do you want? I think four or five is a good number but am willing to have more, if that is what you want. An age difference of two to three years sounds ideal to me but no more no less.

Four or five sounds perfect. We do quite enjoy to keep things fun, your sense of humor is what grabbed me in the first place. My goodness you know a lot of languages, sounds like traveling will be a lot easier for you than for me. I was wondering, in naming the children would you like to stick with all traditional Jewish names...or would you like to branch out into other cultures as well?
vote up1
Rather than Jewish names, I'd prefer sticking to Hebrew first names and then perhaps giving a middle name of whatever culture we are surrounded by.Also I'd love to use my maiden name as a name for a son of ours

Well, my thought would be that we met because I was representing one of your clients. We worked together to help with his best interests and became very close. Feel free to change or add detail.I think four kids is good since we were both wanting that general range. As for the job situation, since mine floats between London and Paris, somewhere in there would be good. I could also transfer to another branch if somewhere else in Europe is more beneficial to your job.Let me know what you think!

We did meet at the university, 5 years ago, I was in my 1st year and we just kept bumping into each other between classes. Eventually you asked me out for a drink. We dated throughout university, and then on the night of your graduation I proposed to you and I was so overjoyed when you said yes. We married only very recently and it was a beautiful day shared with both of our familes.I've loved growing up in a large family, and would like a large family of my own one day with perhaps 5 or so children, how many would be your ideal number love? I'd like them be reasonably close in age as well so that they can be in similiar age groups and grow up close, but you're the one who has to give birth to them, so that should really be your choice and i'm happy to support you no matter what you decide.

Ok, so I'll say we met in college. I was a junior, you were a teaching assistant and grad student. I thought you were cute and, never one to wait for the guy to make the first move, began talking to you. We immediately hit it off, but we waited until I had finished the class to start dating, lest someone think my grades weren't honestly earned. We fell in love quickly, but neither of us wanted to rush things, so we dated for a long time and you proposed to me on our anniversary after two years together. We married last spring here in New York, making all our family travel to be with us. Now we're both settling down to our careers and getting ready to start our family. Also, we need to decide how many children we want. I'd like at least a two years spacing between births, and as I'm the one who will be having the babies I see it as my decision :P. How does five children sound?
