Alex and Gabriele first met when Alex was an exchange student at Gabriele's high school. They hit it off and continued meeting throughout college. When Alex was 25 and Gabriele was 23, they got married in Uzés, Alex's hometown. They lived in Munich, Germany, for a while to be close to Gabriele's father until he passed away two years later. Now, they live in London for Gabriele's job as an editor for Portfolio, an art magazine. Alex is unemployed.
