Machia could be a form of Masha, which is the Russian pet form of Maria...
Machiah means messiah in Hebrew, but it's not a name lol

The Hebrew word for messiah is "mashiach".

Well, since Hebrew and Latin characters aren't the same I think both can be written. I have seen it written Machiach many times...

You are right, some Hebrew letters or sounds respectively are hard to transcribe in some languages (I would hate to try it in French!). But the letter "Shin" for the SH-sound is not one of them, I'm afraid, as far as languages like German or English (or even French) are concerned.
Transscriptions from one languge to another usually have two possible purposes: a) to make sure the word is pronounced (somewhat) correctly b) to get the original spelling right. "Machiach" doesn't fulfil either of them. Sorry!
This of course does not mean that you won't find the word spelt that way even many times. And of course it is not impossible that someone should have picked up this wrong spelling and made up a name from it. Who knows … But I don't believe so.
