[Opinions] Obit, I guess? (Ivy) Also...
My English teacher's daughter died of cancer on Friday, and I found out her name was Ivy. So I've been thinking about the name Ivy today, and how the fact that it's simple and pretty, and the fact that I've never actually known one, makes it oddly the perfect name for a tragic and innocent sort of person... I can't imagine Ivy on a person who is popular, talkative, likes Miley Cyrus etc.; she has to be elegant, quiet, and dreamy. So I was thinking about how I ever met an Ivy who didn't fit "my" description, or if I actually used Ivy and she turned out to be the exact opposite of how I picture an Ivy, I might stop liking the name. So, WDYTO Ivy, and do you have any names that you like *maybe* enough to use, but can only envision on a certain sort of person?

I have never met an Ivy, but I know it's climbing in popularity (no pun intended). I think it's lovely, calm, and sweet.
I'm sorry to hear about that little girl. :(

I adore Ivy. It's simple, elegant, and matures well. I think your description fits it perfectly, but I'd also add scholarly. I can also imagine a nice girl who also participates in athletic activities and also popular, but not the obnoxious, tiresome and stereotypical popular. More like a girl that everyone knows and likes for her kind personality.
One name I can picture only on a certain type of person (but never use) is Gertrude. I picture Gertrude as a bitter woman with a nasty attitude. Blech
Another name I like but can only picture on a particular person is Poppy. I see Poppy as a perky, playful girl. Perhaps athletic, but not entirely dedicated to sports. I see someone who is humorous and likes to make people laugh.
Lastly: Genevieve. Mature, elegant, scholarly Genevieve. A girl who has all her manners straight, smart, and a ballet dancer. Perhaps snooty and frilly, but beautiful nonetheless. I picture a plain-looking girl but has one extraordinary physical feature, whether it be her lips or eyes or anything else.
