[Opinions] Elysabel
I recently stumbled upon the name Elysabel. Rutebeuf, a 13th century French poet, used the name in his poem La Vie Sainte Elysabel, referring to Saint Elisabeth of Hungary.
I like it because it has the familiarity of Elisabeth and Isabel, plus its own uncommon, whimsical charm. I'm also a sucker for -bel names and the nickname Lys.
WDYT?

I thought this post was going to be about a kreatyve spelling of Isabelle.
It sounds very pretty but the spelling is awkward & almost just looks like a jumble of letters.

I'm still not convinced on this one. It still sounds like a Twilight baby to me.
I think I may swoon!
I quite like it. For whatever reason I find old variations and combinations of names really interesting- I am endlessly entertained by the lists at the bottom of this page: http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/reaney/ I don't think I'd use Elysabel, but Lys would be a lovely nickname.
I love that website! It's where I first discovered Idony, Celestria, and Estrilda.
I've encountered Elizabel / Elizabelle and Elizabella before, but not Elysabel. It's pretty. It's not something I would use, but I can appreciate it. I prefer the look of Elysabel to Elizabel / Elizabelle. I think I like Elisabel, Elisabelle, and Elysabelle as well.
I like it as well. In Arthurian legend, there are several variations with a similar feel: Elyzabel, Helizabel, Elibel, and Eliabella.
